Sprinkles of Life Birthdays

So sorry I went missing the last couple of days.  I just had no crafting mojo in me!  I did get some organizing done though marking my retiring stamps, ribbons, dies and folders. What an undertaking!

Next is working through the DSP's.  That will be huge because I cut them into 6" x 6" squares easy to package up for quick cards or my BOGO sale.

So, today I got out my pre-order papers, stamps and punch and made some cute birthday cards.  I just love the Cherry On Top DSP stack that will be available to you all on June 2nd.  Sooner if you sign up as a Demonstrator - then you can order from the Demo-Only pre-order too!  I'd love to have you on my team.

This first card base is Watermelon Wonder (it looks so much prettier in real life).  DSP is 2" x 5 1/2" and Bermuda Bay is 2 3/8" x 5 1/2"

I stamped the cupcake base onto Delightful Dijon and cut it out with my paper snips.  Then stamping the cupcake top onto a piece of Cherry On Top with tiny little hearts and punched it out with the new Tree Builder Punch.

Then, see those little teeny tiny candles?  Yeah, well I cut them out of the Cherry on Top DSP also, right before I realized the Sprinkles of Life stamp set has a larger candle that would have been so much easier to cut!  ha ha - Jokes on me!  But hey, they are cute! Right?

The sentiments are from two stamp sets.  One that will be retiring June 2nd - Yippee Skippee and the other one is from Big Day, which was a Sale-a-Bration set.  They go so perfectly together.

 

This card used a base of Bermuda Bay.  The first layer from there is Watermelon Wonder cut at 5 1/4" x 4 and embossed with Large Polka Dot embossing folder.

Then cut one piece of DSP 4" x 2" and two pieces of DSP 4" x 1".  Center the two inch piece on the embossed piece and then add the two one inch pieces on the outside.

The Whisper White is 2" x 3 1/2" piece that was punched with Scalloped Tag Topper.

More Cute Little Tribbles!

I still love this cute little card I cased from my Upline - Lorri Heiling!  I changed embossing folder since Sale-a-Bration is now over and the great little folder I used before is no longer available.  Although I still love it and will be using it.  Maybe it will end up in the new Annual Catalog on June 1st.

 

 

This card is for my step-Daughter, Jennifer.  I don't think she reads my blog, so I think I'm safe to post it.  LOL.  We're going out to lunch for her birthday today (Sunday) and I'll be giving it to her then.  I wanted the inside to be happy birthday, but I also wanted it to be fun, so I put my brain in gear and came up with the insides below.

Now, I bet you are thinking, "I don't think I've seen that stamp before."  and you'd be right, sort of.  The "you can never have too much happy" comes from Yippee Skippee and the "birthday" comes from Remembering Your Birthday.  The "birthday" is actually Happy Birthday, but I only inked up the "Birthday" and lined it up under the "Happy".  Awesome!

The cute little critter is actually a pretty little flower turned upside down from Simple Stems.  Cute!

Do you ever wonder what colors to put together to make the perfect combination?  The answer... COLOR COACH!

For this card I started with the ribbon, it is Pear Pizzazz.  So I pulled out the Color Coach and looked up Pear Pizzazz and as you can see from below, the Creative Combination is Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry and Tempting Turquoise.  Perfect!

Don't you just love the bright colors on this one?  I'm going to need more of this DSP again.  I think I use it more than any other!

The cake is colored with Stampin' Write markers to get some variety in the colors.

Best of Birthday Carbs!

Another birthday card for one of our October birthdays.  This one looks much better in person, you'll just have to trust me here!  :)

At first I stamped the birthday cake on Whisper White but didn't like the way it looked when I colored it with my ink and aqua brush.  It colors so much nicer on water color paper, too bad it isn't actually Whisper White or Very Vanilla to match our regular card stock.

The birthday cake comes from the January "Best of... 25 Years" set Best of Birthdays.  I carefully inked from the plate up so as not to get the sentiment below since I wanted to use the "Carbs Schmarbs" sentiment.  It's just so cute!

Carbs, Schmarbs! for Masculine Carbs... Cards!

Everyone needs a little humor in their life and with Yippee-Skippee! there are several opportunities for some great humorous cards!  

Needing some masculine cards, I pulled out Gorgeous Grunge from page 109 in the Annual Catalog and Yippee-Skippee! from page 37.  

I used 3 different colors of ink for the Grunge, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede and Sahara Sand and then just splattered those stamps all over the card base of Crumb Cake.  For the outside sentiment I applied marker to stamp with Cherry Cobbler and Pacific Point, gave it a little "huff" of moist air and stamped it onto Very Vanilla.  I then used Cajun Craze again to make the frame around the sentiment.

Inside I pulled out the old faithful Bring on the Cake from page 14.  Found the perfect stamp with the Happy Birthday and the dreaded carb-loaded cake!  Look at all those candles!

I hope you enjoyed today's card.  I had fun making them and will probably make some more to have around for those men in our lives that everyone stumbles over making the perfect card.
