Mask It Up!

I spotted a card yesterday with slots on it for tucking in messages and gift cards and my brain immediately went to face masks!  So, here's what I created.

For a Friend:

(inside sentiment typed up on word document and printed on Whisper White)

Recipe:
Balmy Blue (above) / Pacific Point (below) - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Subtles / Brights Designer Series Paper - 4" x 5 1/4"
Whisper White - 3 1/2" x 4 1/4", scored at 1", 1 1/4", 2", 2 1/4", 3", 3 3/4"
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4" (inside panel)
Whisper White scraps for sentiment.

For a Healthcare Worker (as a fun thank you).

Stamps:
A Little Lace - "A little note to say" (punched with Classic Label)
Daisy Delight - Thank You
Ink:  Memento Black
Metallic Bakers Twine - 4"
Rhinestone Basic Jewels

After scoring, fold in a zig zag.  Attach to DSP with Tear & Tape to hold the folds in place.

On this card I punched leaving the "Just" out.  You'll still see a bit of ink, so you may want to trim it off, or possibly sponge the edges (which I may do on the next one).

Thank you for looking in today!  We're expecting a little rain around here, but I haven't seen any yet.  It smells like rain outside, but none on the ground yet.

Happy Saturday!

Happy Independence Day America

Just a quick card to show off the beautiful Red, White and Blue for America's Birthday!

I'm so happy the Daisy Punch and Daisy Delight are still in the Annual Catalog so they can hold me over until I can get the Daisy Lane Bundle - which is apparently very popular!

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
Blueberry Bushel - 4" x 5 1/4"
Real Red - 2 1/2" x 5"
Whisper White scraps for stamping and punching six (6) daisies - 2 of each color.

  • Real Red
  • Smoky Slate
  • Blueberry Bushel
Attach two flowers together and then stamp the centers with Daffodil Delight.  Attach the finished flowers with Stampin' Dimensionals.

If you are out and about celebrating today and tonight, please don't drink and drive and if you drink, please, call a friend or family member.  Enjoy fireworks, friends and family!

I CASED today's card from Lynn Dunn earlier this week and just haven't had a chance to post it yet.

Things have been a bit hectic around here with extra hours at work and well, me tripping over my own toes Thursday morning and getting up close and personal with the new carpet on the bridge between two buildings at work.  So now my best friends are altering between an ice bag and a heated corn bag.  This will be a short post so I can get back to my recliner and a fresh ice bag.

There are a few changes from Lynn's cards but very slight.  I just really liked them the way they were.

Recipe:
Soft Suede - 11" x 4 3/4", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
Wood Textures - 5 1/4" x 4" (tear off a bit at one end) - Sponged around the edges with Soft Suede
Daffodil Delight - 4" x 1" (to go under the torn off wood grain)
Daffodil Delight scraps for stamping Daisy with Soft Suede
Soft Suede scraps for punching 3/4" Circle

There is a 2nd card to go with this.  I'll try to post it tomorrow.  Lots more details with it.

Daisy Delight Thanks

A quick and easy card today.  The idea for this card comes from Connie Stewart.  Thanks Connie!  I chose different colors and paper, but the basis is from her card.

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick card stock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Designer Series Paper (I used Tutti Frutti) 4 1/4" x 2 1/4"

Melon Mambo - Daisy Delight Stamps and Punch
Melon Mambo - Ink
Daffodil Delight - 1/2" punch
Basic Black - 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon

I wanted the ribbon to just be on the front of the card and since I only had the base of the card and the striped panel I decided to attach it to the striped panel.  So I used a piece of Tear & Tape across the very top and then put the ribbon onto the Tear & Tape.

On the back of the striped panel place a little more Tear & Tape to wrap the ends of the ribbon around to the back.  Then it all attaches to the bottom of the card.

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Hump Day!

Daisies are Blooming

At least on this card they are and depending on where you live, they could be blooming there too!  Shirley did a beautiful job with this card.  I'm anxious to start using these stamps again now that spring is here.

Around Phoenix African Daisies are popping open everywhere and they are all so beautiful!  These things grow up out of nothing, it's just amazing, our desert around here is full of them and they just keep coming back, year after year!  So pretty!

Thank you for looking in today.  Happy Friday!  Watch out tomorrow for a project I've been working on.  Complete with details!

Use Those Scraps

I sure hope this works, for some reason my computer is being very slow at the moment.

This great daisy paper with the blue background is one of my favorites so far this year and I just couldn't let these little strips get away.  So next best thing, put them on a card as broken background.

This was so fast and easy and yet beautiful and versatile.  Simply put them together and add the appropriate sentiment as needed.

Recipe:
Daffodil Delight - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4" (inside panel)
Whisper White scraps for punching FOUR Daisies.
Daffodil Delight scraps for punching 3/4" circles for the middle

Now... if you have a weak stomach when it comes to altering your stamps, don't go any further.  This may be more than you can handle!  When I discovered that Thank You from the Daisy Delight Stamps, I decided to cut it in half and trimmed up the edges a bit and it worked perfectly.  I left the edge where I cut between the words in precise order so I can easily line them back up to look good as new for stamping.

Use your bone folder to roll the petals up a bit and attach the flowers to the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Thank you for looking in today.  It's a LONG weekend for me as I took Monday off and Tuesday is the 4th of July holiday.  So I'm ready to enjoy some crafty time this weekend!  What are your plans?

Happy Saturday!!
