Birthday Tulips

What is your favorite flower?  Usually I would say Roses but at this time of year with Spring upon us, I have to say Tulips.  They are just so gentle and pretty.

Today's card is a CASE from Susan Itell.  I changed the size of the card and the color of the tulips as I didn't have the color pen she used... yes, I know, I should have all of them, but I'm still missing here and there!

The base card is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4" in Whisper White.  The next layer is Pink Pirouette cut at 3 3/4" x 5" and the top is 3 1/2" x 4 3/4".

I stamped off (inked and then stamped once on scrap paper before stamping on the card) using So Saffron from the Happy Watercolor set and then colored the greens with Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker and the Tulips are different on each card.  One using Melon Mambo and the other using Raspberry Ripple Stampin' Write Markers.

The sentiment is from the Hostess Set - Simply Sketched.  Another of my favorites!

More Cards from Our Own Regional Event

Here we have two more of the cards I made for our weSTAMP Regional meeting last Saturday.  I have to admit when I first saw this blank card with the Gumball Green, I wasn't fond of it, but I like how this turned out setting it off with Island Indigo.

I think this one is really pretty with the Watercolor Wonder DSP with the Island Indigo and Gumball Green flowers.  Again I set it off with the Island Indigo mat.

More to come... be sure to come back tomorrow!

Watercolor Wonder Note Cards

Today I'm excited to share the first of some cards that I made for our weSTAMP Team "Regional Event" we had on Tuesday.  Lorri asked me to do a display board on anything I wanted to from the Occasions Catalog and I chose the Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Cards & Envelopes.

These cards are just so beautiful and take very little time to decorate and share.  The set comes with 4 of each design for a total of 20 cards shown below.  They are made on watercolor paper, so you're all ready to stamp or water color on them.

Here is the first card I made for the display and I've been so anxious to share it.  I stamped it with a stamp from Happy Watercolor (w-133188 / c-133191) using Black StazOn ink.  Anytime you want to use a water color technique, you should always use the StazOn permanent ink.  As a matter of fact, anytime I stamp in black, I use it.

Using my Aqua Painter (103954) and a little ink from the lid of my ink pads, I colored it in with Daffodil Delight and then Tangerine Tango.  The stem was done with Old Olive.  The "thank you" also comes from the same stamp set

Here you can see the size difference from the Standard Card size (5 1/2" x 4 1/4") and the Note Card Size (5" x 3 1/2").  Just the perfect size for a quick note or when you don't have a lot to say.

I'll be sharing more of my display cards this week, so pop back in tomorrow to see more!

Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a Blessed Sunday!

You Make Me Happy

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.  My two boys joined us on Christmas Eve for our traditional homemade chicken and noodle soup.  My oldest son brought along a friend that is going through an ugly divorce.  I love knowing they've remained friends since high school and enjoy when they come to visit.  It was great having all three of them here!

The tall one in the middle is Bobby - he's been best friends with my oldest son Billy (the one with his arms crossed) since high school.  Billy will be 32 in February (YIKES!) and Robert, my baby, with the scary beard (lol) will be 28 a week after Billy's birthday.  Where does the time go???

The shorty in the middle is me... They both outgrew me AGES ago!  I sure love those boys, it would be nice to have more time with them, but they both have night shift hours and odd days off, so timing is tough.  It just makes the time we do get together that much more special!

Christmas Day was quiet, just me and the hubby, so it was a day of pajama's and t-shirts resting and watching Christmas movies and taking a nice nap!  Later though, I broke into my box of goodies that I was able to pre-order from the Occasions Catalog.

Finally a chance to play with my new stamps and papers!!  So much fun!!

Here are a couple of very quick cards I made to share with you.
