Healing Poppies

Just found out another friend has been diagnosed with breast cancer and I wanted to send her a pretty card so she knows how much I care.  Cancer is such an ugly disease.  Please pray for those who are afflicted with it in any form.  I completely believe in the power of prayer.

Recipe:

Rich Razzleberry - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"

Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper - 4" x 5 1/4"

Whisper White 4" x 5 1/4" (inside panel)

Stamp a Stash for Friends

Here is another card we made at our Stamp a Stash this weekend.  So easy and so beautiful and can be made ahead without a sentiment so that just the right sentiment can be added when needed.

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Soft Suede - 4" x 5 1/4"
Whisper White - 3 3/4" x 5"

Stamps - Healing Hugs, Love What You Do
Ink:  Rococo Rose, Mossy Meadow, Memento Black

Start by stamping the rose onto a post it note with as much sticky under the stamp as possible.  I recommend stamping the post it with a color OTHER than the one you plan to use on the card.  This will make it easier to see when using the post it as a mask.  Cut out the rose from the post it with your paper snips.

Stamp the rose onto the lower corner of the Whisper White - I used Rococo Rose, let it dry and then place the post it over the stamped rose, but don't cover the rose exactly.  Move the post it down just a tad, maybe 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch.  Then when you stamp the leaves, there won't be a blank edge.  Trust me, you'll want to do this for perfect stamping!

Sympathy with Healing Hugs

I wanted to do a simple sympathy card for a friend whose Mother passed away recently.  Since it is going to a guy, I didn't want it to be frilly, so here is what I came up with.

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4"
Whisper White - 3/4" x 4" 

Stamps:  Healing Hugs (148223) and Kindness & Compassion (151342)
Ink:  Night of Navy

I stamped the flower from Healing Hugs and the leaves onto the 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White, then stamped the sentiment on the 3/4" x 4" strip and popped them both up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  So Simple!

Healing Grapefruit Grove

Something told me to try the Healing Hugs rose in Grapefruit Grove, probably because I think it is such a beautiful color!  So glad this color will be around another year.

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Grapefruit Grove - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - embossed with the Subtle embossing folder
Whisper White scrap for stamping the flower and leaves

I fussy cut the flower and the leaves, but stamped the little sprigs directly onto the embossed Whisper White.  It was a piece I had already embossed, when I thought of stamping the little sprigs.  It came out perfect!

Inks:  Grapefruit Grove, Wild Wasabi, Soft Suede

Healing Hugs

Oh. My. Goodness!  I don't know why on earth I didn't snag this stamp set sooner.  The rose and leaves in this set are absolutely GORGEOUS!  I wish you could see it in real life, so you really need to buy this one and stamp some roses!   Seriously, I can't get over how much I love this.

This set is called Healing Hugs and it is in the Annual Catalog on page 110.  If you look on that page, you'll see a little orange seal that indicates these are DistINKtive stamps, which means they have very realistic photographic look.  Keep your eyes open for these as they are beautiful.

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 4" x 5 1/4"
Whisper White - 3 3/4" x 5"
Basic Black - 3 3/8" x 3 3/8"
Whisper White - 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"

The small Whisper White square is popped up with Stampin' Dimensional onto the Basic Black square.
