Sneak Peek - Balloon Builders

When I first went through the upcoming 2016 Occasions Catalog (one of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - a month of pre-order and playing with new toys!) this stamp set, Balloon Builders is the first one I saw that made me fall in love with it!

I used the basic balloon shapes for this card, but wait until you see the cute other things that can be made with this set.  I think you will love it too!

If you can't wait to see all the new things in the Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalog, you should JOIN MY TEAM and get your hands on some pre-order items too!

If you can wait, and would like to have an Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs as soon as they are available to the public, send me an email and I'll be happy to add you to my mailing list.  If you already have a Demonstrator, please contact them.  If you are looking for a Demonstrator, I'd be happy to be yours!

Thank you for looking in today.  I appreciate your business and your comments!

My Beautiful Balloon

The lyrics "Wouldn't you like to fly in my beautiful balloon..." come to mind when I was thinking of what to call post.  Of course, this isn't the type of balloon you would hitch a ride with, but it is big and beautiful!

This was actually the first "balloon" card I made a couple of weeks ago and then put it aside until I could make more, which I finally did.  I love the simplicity of this and I remember seeing it on someone's blog or Pinterest post, but I'm afraid I don't remember now who it was.  If it was you, please let me know so I can give credit.

This was the first card I made tonight (Friday) for posting and decided to make it a little more fun by making the statement "happy age awareness day" instead of "happy birthday".  When you see inside, there's a perfect sentiment to match!

After making the Calypso Coral and the Real Red ones, I felt like something was missing and decided to decorate the balloon's surface with a swirly stamp from the same stamp set and to drop the balloon down a bit, so it had a bit of a mat to it.  Much better, don't you think?

Here's another one in Rose Red.  I wish the colors would show up better on the computer, but you get the idea and if you know your Stampin' Up! colors, you know how beautiful they are!

Here's a close up of the Rose Red.  One of my favorite colors.

HERE is the inside sentiment, and honestly, there is a couple of good ones in this stamp set that can make for some funny cards.  I don't know about you, but I'm always looking for FUN cards with silly sentiments.  My best card purchasing customer is the same and I have several I need to make up this weekend for her, so a couple of these will be perfect!

Thank you for looking in today.  I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Birthday Balloons with Owl Feet

I've been thinking about balloons lately and how to make them without hand cutting.  So I looked through the punches we have and hit upon two that worked PERFECTLY together to make a balloon.  The Small Oval (120908) and the Owl Builder (118074).  Okay, I see you thinking... think about this.  The bottom, or gathered part of a balloon where the knot is tied, has a rippled edge to it.  Take a look at the "feet" on the owl and you have the gathered part of a balloon.

Punch out the Small Oval out of any DSP or card stock you like and then punch enough "feet" to go with your ovals.  Trim the feet up so you have plenty of  pieces to go with your balloons.  See samples below:

Stamps Well With Others Recipe:
