Painted Harvest Swap Card

Sharing another swap card today.  Last night hubby and I went to the movies for a special showing of "The Music Man".  From time to time the theaters, in conjunction with Turner Classic Movies, will have $5.00 showings of old movies.  The first one we went to a couple of years ago was "Casa Blanca".  We've also seen "Some Like It Hot" and "Willy Wonka".  The tickets were cheap but we spent more on food tonight that we did at Outback Steakhouse!  Of course, we had $25 off with Outback, but still!

Today I'm sharing Patti Galegher's card made with Painted Harvest.  She also used Hold on to Hope from the 2018 Occasions catalog.

Recipe:
Crumb Cake - 9 1/2" x 4 1/4", scored and folded at 4"
Garden Green - 4" x 3 3/4" (outside mat)
Whisper White - 3 3/4" x 3 1/2" (outside)
Garden Green - 5 1/4" x 4" (inside mat)
Whisper White - 5" x 3 3/4"

Garden Green Strip - 4" x 1 1/4", scored and folded at 3"

Attach the strip behind the inside Garden Green mat so you won't have to figure out where to attach it later when it is too late.

I'm going to guess at the colors here.  To me it looks like Powder Pink and Fresh Fig for the flowers, Garden Green for the leaves and side band and mats.

Stamp as shown and fussy cut one of the flowers to put on the strip.

Thank you for looking in today and thank you to Patti for such a fun and beautiful card for our swaps.

Happy Hump Day!

Painted in Pink

Ok, so it's not really pink, it's Melon Mambo, but that didn't work for me.

This is a fun little card we'll be making at our Team Meeting on Monday.  Yes, I know it's very springy, but as Demonstrators, we're always planning ahead!

Whisper White - 4 1/8" x 3"

Ink - Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi, Soft Suede

Acorny Thanks

Okay, so this isn't really a corny thanks, but there are Acorns and it's a Thankful sentiment!  Got your attention though, right?

Saturday was World Card Making Day - Did you get a chance to make any cards?  I did!  Here are two of them.

This was a quick and easy card to make and will mail easily without bulky embellishments.  I thought about making the Very Vanilla layer straight, but the look of falling leaves and acorns needed that tilted look.

Recipe:
Chocolate Chip - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Very Vanilla - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Stamps:  Painted Harvest
Ink:  Soft Suede and Early Espresso

Stamp the bottom of the acorn with Soft Suede and the tops with Early Espresso - stamp off once first to lighten the ink.

Stamp the sentiment with Early Espresso

Leaf Die Cut - from Seasonal Layers Thinlits

All Better Now

Look how pretty this sentiment stamps now!  If you follow regularly, you'll remember on September 8th (last Friday) I posted THIS card with the bad stamp inside.  Well, my new set arrived today from Stampin' Up!

So of course I had to make a card to show it off.

Recipe:
Whisper White - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Garden Green - 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4"

**Reminder - punch your leaves out of the Garden Green Layer.  You'll never see the missing leaves and you won't be wasting additional paper.

Stamps:  Painted Harvest
Sunflowers are stamped with  Crushed Curry first, then Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze.

Thank you for looking in today.  Have a Happy Hump Day!

Thankful For You

It occurred to me that I never shared the second card from Painted Harvest that I made when I made this one.

Recipe:
Cajun Craze - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Garden Green - 4 1/8" x 3 1/8"
Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper - 4" x 3"
Very Vanilla - 3 1/2" (depending on sentiment) x 1"
Very Vanilla - 4 1/8" x 3 1/8" (inside) this is smaller than normal as I was using up some scrap pieces.

Stamps:  Painted Harvest
Ink:  Cajun Craze

So, I need to explain the inside of this card.  The stamp looked strange to me when I pulled it out of the box.  But I figured it was just my eyes.  I cleaned it before using - you know to always do this before you stamp the first time - then I inked it up with Cajun Craze and stamped.

Sadly, this was how it stamped, with all those little dots in between.  It's not supposed to have dots!  After checking with other team members it was just my stamp, so my eyes were not deceiving me.  The most wonderful thing about Stampin' Up! is that they understand sometimes things go wrong.  I called them and gave them the information they needed and a new set is on the way to me.

Apparently the area behind the lettering wasn't deep enough and there was no way to get a good stamp without the back stamping too.  Can you see it?

Maybe I could put a distress stamp around it and it would look like I intended it to be spotty!

Moral of the story is, always stamp on a scrap first to be sure you image is what it should be.

Thank you for looking in today.  It's finally Friday and I have a workshop Saturday!  Yayyy!
