You're Too Kind

Too Kind - Simple and  Fun!  Remember how beautiful this stamp set turned out as a "fireworks" card?  To refresh your memory, click HERE.  So with all the fireworks going off for the New Year celebrations all around the world, I thought I'd pull out these stamps (Too Kind) and play with them for today's post.

I decided to layer the stamps using So Saffron, Hello Honey and Chocolate Chip with Mossy Meadow for the stems and sentiments.  I think if I make more of this one, and I think I will, that I will make the mats a bit bigger.

Here's the outside and the inside.  I decided to stamp a single small flower inside.

The sentiment is stamped on a scrap of Whisper White and punched out with the Artisan Label Punch and sponged around the edges with Hello Honey.

I then popped up the sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This card could be used for just about any type of card, just make up a bunch ahead of time and stamp the appropriate sentiment on the outside.  Just be sure to leave enough room for a larger sentiment if needed.  You could certainly stamp the flowers farther to the left to allow for more space.

Thank you for looking in today.  I hope your 2015 has started out well.

Have a blessed Sunday!

Blendies and Ribbon

If you've ever tried to color any of our ribbons with our Stampin' Up! Markers you probably had the same results I did... and they weren't all that great.

BUT... with our new Blendabilities, the results are GREAT!

Here I colored our 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon with two different Blendies from the Calypso Coral Markers.  The one on the left was done using the "light" Calypso Coral and the one on the right using the "medium" shade of Calypso Coral.

When the light one was first colored and when you use it on paper, you'll think, Oh My, that's like neon orange, but it dries beautifully as you can see below

As a matter of fact, when I set them to the side to dry - which actually only took a minute or two - I almost couldn't tell them apart.  On white background though, you can see the one is lighter.

Calypso Coral will be available to you beginning August 1st.  As a Demonstrator, you could get them NOW!  (hint, hint!)

Thank you for stopping in today.  I hope you like this nice trick to making beautiful ribbons with our new Blendabilities.

Have a great week, it's Monday, again!

Palm Tree Sunset

On Wednesday at the office, one of my co-workers (a man, no less!) was admiring my "fireworks" card that I still had on my desk and commented how nice it looked.  If you missed it, see it here.  Then he said, "its a palm tree".  I said, "what?" knowing full well I hadn't made anything with a palm tree on it.  He tells me, it looks like a palm tree and holds it up for me to see.  Well I'll be.... it DID look like a palm tree (if you changed the colors).  He had just returned a couple of weeks ago from Hawaii, so that probably helped.  :)

My brain immediately went into full speed and here is what I came up with when I got home.  I'm kind of tickled with it!

Thank you for looking in today!  Imagine the possibilities with the stamps you have.  What can you create today?

Proper Fireworks

So, apparently my headache from Thursday was still in control of my brain when I made the "Fireworks Cards" made with the Too Kind stamp set.  When I took them into the office to show my co-workers I realized something wasn't right and then it was pointed out they would have looked better if I had turned the "flowers" upside down to look more like fireworks.

Duhhhh... that's what was wrong!  LOL  I knew I had seen the idea online, but didn't have one to go by and was doing it from memory... memory with a headache.  Bad idea.

So, here is the proper way to stamp these to make them look like fireworks.

Much better, don't you think?  Yeah, me too!  If you missed the other post, you can see it HERE.

So, off to bed before posting this for Saturday.  Maybe my brain will be clearer then for better stamping!

Thanks for looking in!  I appreciate any and all comments!

A Little Sumthin' Patriotic

I spotted someone making Fireworks with the Too Kind stamp set and even though I had planned on getting this set, this prompted me to get it sooner.  Of course, I wanted to be sure it carried over into this year's catalog first.  SOOO glad that it did!

This was very, very easy to put together.  I do have to tell you, this is my 2nd attempt at these two cards.  I originally made the card with our Metallic Silver ink.  Let me just say DON'T DO IT! unless you plan to use some silver emboss.  The stuff just doesn't dry and will smudge, making you very unhappy!

Instead, I used Smoky Slate and added some glimmer with Dazzling Details.

I was thrilled to find "Hooray Hoorah!" for the inside.  It seemed like a perfect stamp, don't you think?

Thank you for looking in today.  One more week until Independence Day!  I hope you get a chance to make some of these fun cards for our Nation's Birthday!
