Remarkable You, Round Two

Just like Lay's Potato Chips, I couldn't make just one, so here is card number two with different colors.  However, this still uses the same Designer Series Paper stack - Tranquil Textures.

Recipe:
Pool Party - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"
Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper - 4 5/8" x 3 3/8"
Basic Black - 3 7/8" x 2 5/8"
Whisper White - 3 3/4" x 2 1/2"
Whisper White Scraps for stamping the flower.

Stamps - Remarkable You
Inks -
Memento Black
Smoky Slate (stamped off once for inside)
Pool Party Stampin' Blends for coloring the flower.

Remember to give your envelope some love.  The DSP seen here is actually the backside of the Fresh Fig you see matted on the front of the card.

Thank your for looking in.  Team Meeting tonight, so if I miss posting for tomorrow, you'll know why.

Old Meets New in Remarkable You

With the end of the 2017-2018 catalog so very near, I figured it was time to give some love to some of my favorite retiring sets.

Remarkable You (retiring) is one of those favorites.  The big bold flowers that color so nicely with the Stampin' Blends and being large, they are easy to fussy cut if you want.  Which is exactly what I did with this card.

The new part here is the Designer Series Paper - Tranquil Textures and the laser cut tag that comes in the Early Release bundles.

Recipe:
Fresh Fig - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"
Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper - 4 5/8" x 3 3/8"
Basic Black - 3 7/8" x 2 5/8"
Whisper White - 3 3/4" x 2 1/2"
Whisper White Scraps for stamping the flower.

Stamps - Remarkable You
Inks -
Blackberry Bliss (Fresh Fig would work of course, but Blackberry Bliss was right in front of me!)
Memento Black
Smoky Slate (stamped off once for inside)

Remember to give your envelope some love.  The DSP seen here is actually the backside of the Fresh Fig you see matted on the front of the card.

Happy Memorial Day - remember to thank a Vet for his service and sacrifice.

Thank you for looking in today!

Coloring is so relaxing and now with our new Stampin' Blends, it is smooth and easy to do with excellent results.

One of my favorite stamp sets for coloring is Remarkable You.   Nice big areas to color and plenty of room to blend easily.

I've found the best way to have the colors blend best is to color the petals with the brush end of the light pen.  The pens come in a light and dark for each shade available.

Color just two or three petals at a time, it seems to blend better this way.  Next using fine point end of the dark pen of the same color the areas where you want it to look darker or shaded.  Then switch back to your light color fine point and color over the dark and light together to make the colors blend and lighten a bit.  Finally, I took the brush end and colored easily over the whole area one last time

For the leaves, I simply darkened where the shadow lines are and blended them the same way as above.

Recipe:
Calypso Coral - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Painted Autumn DSP - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 4 1/2" x 3 1/4"
Basic Black - 4 5/8" x 3 3/8"

Stamp the flower and leaves with Memento Black.  There are two ways to do this.

1) stamp the leaves on the 4 1/2" x 3 1/4" whisper white piece, color and set aside
2) stamp the flower on a scrap of whisper white, color, fussy cut and place over the leaves

the other way is:

1) stamp the flower onto the 4 1/2" x 3 1/4" whisper white piece and then again with what is still left on the stamp onto a post it note being sure to stamp towards the top of the post it so the sticky is behind part of the flower.
2) fussy cut the post it note flower and place it over the flower on the whisper white piece of cardstock.
3) stamp the leaves over the post it note where you want them "behind" the flower.
4) remove the post it and do your coloring.

Thank you for looking in today!  I hope your Monday went well and your Tuesday is even better!

Stampin' Blends Coming November 1st

Stampin' Blends will be available November 1st to Everyone!  Look how pretty the color and make beautiful works of art  - even if  you think you aren't an artist.  The pens do all the work!  One of the most wonderful things about using these to color over our Stampin' Write Markers is there are no streaky lines, they just blend beautifully into the paper and into each other.

This is Rich Razzleberry:

Calypso Coral:

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Rich Razzleberry (or color of choice to match the pens) 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Use Memento Black Ink when coloring with Stampin' Blends.

Stamps:  Remarkable You and Birthday Blooms

Each color available comes in a Dark and a Light and each pen comes with a brush tip and a pen tip.

Begin by coloring the whole flower with the brush tip and the Light color.  Then using the pen tip of the Dark color, fill in where you want the darker shading.  This is typically at the bottom of the petals (for a flower) or under the leaves or petals.  Imagine where the sun or light is shining on your object and the darker areas will be the parts away from the light.

Then using the pen tip of the Light color again, blend and soften the darker ink until you get what you like.

So many possibilities for coloring with the new Stampin' Blends and this flower from this set is great for coloring!

Give it a try!  I bet you will love it!  Coloring is so relaxing and beautiful works like this make it all worthwhile!

~ Happy Friday! ~

Remarkable You

Sometimes it is nice to color, without coloring, aka, stamping on cardstock that has the beautiful color you want and then cutting it out.  When I first started stamping and scrapbooking, fussy-cutting was the LAST thing in the world I wanted to do, but now, I find it relaxing.  Weird, right?

Do you like to fussy cut?  As long as the cutting isn't too fussy?

Recipe:

Melon Mambo - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 5 1/4" x 4"
Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper (DSP) 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Smoky Slate Circle
Basic Black Scallop Circle
Whisper White Oval
Basic Black Scallop Oval

Stamps - Remarkable You and Bunch of Blossoms

I popped up the circle and the ovals with Stampin Dimensionals.

Love the Basic Black and Melon Mambo together.

Thank you for looking in today!  Have a Blessed Sunday! ~ Donna
