Valentine's Day - Gift Card Holder

Valentine's Day will be here before you know it!  Are you ready for a cute card that holds a gift inside?

Recipe:

Country Bouquet Stamp Set

Mossy Meadow – 4 ¼” x 11”, scored and folded at 5 ½” and 4”

Country Floral Lane DSP – 1 3/8” x 4 1/8” (side strip)

DSP Front Panel Sweet Sorbet Hearts pattern – 3 7/8” x 4 1/8”

Petal Pink Mat – 3 ½” x 3 ½”

Basic White – 3 ¼” x 3 ¼”

Scrap of Petal Pink for Sentiment – punch with heart punch

Inside:

Petal Pink Mat – 4 1/8” x 3 7/8”

Basic White – 4” x 3 ¾”

DSP – 2” x 3 ¾” for gift card pocket – remember ONLY glue three edges so the gift can slip in.

  • Attach the small DSP strip to the outside left hand area.  BEFORE you glue the side panel where the ribbon goes, wrap the Burlap Ribbon around the front and tape it inside the “card”.
  • THEN glue the side panel together.
  • Tie the Red Ribbon around the Burlap Ribbon.
  • Using your Stamp-a-ratus – stamp the flowers in Sweet Sorbet and the leaves in Mossy Meadow.
  • Stamp sentiment onto Petal Pink heart
  • Punch hearts from DSP (or you can stamp them with stamp set – then punch) and attach to front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Attach Petal Pink heart on top of all.
  • Attach mat onto front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Inside – attach DSP strip to the left side panel.  Be sure to ONLY put glue on the sides and bottom so that the gift card or cash will slide in from the top.
  • Stamp inside sentiment and attach to inside of card.

Time to start those sweet Valentine's cards!

Business Card / Gift Card Holder

Over the last couple of weeks I had a couple of different people ask me for a business card related to Stampin' Up! and after I handed them out, I thought how much I wish I had a nice little something to go with them instead of just the card itself.

Along comes Brian King with an idea he received at On Stage last April, and my problem is solved!  Thank you Brian for sharing this great idea!

I made mine with different Designer Series Paper (DSP) and since I love the Magnolia Lane paper, I knew that was what I wanted to make.

Use the largest Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  Cut one with your base color - here I used Mossy Meadow.  Cut another one with your favorite DSP.  If your choice of pattern can be used in either direction, you can cut it in half and it will work to make a 2nd holder.  If your pattern has and up and down orientation, then you'll want to place it in your die so that you are only cutting the bottom. (If you look at Brian's version, you'll understand what I'm not explaining very well - HA!)

Attach the DSP to the bottom half of your base piece, remembering to only do the SIDES and BOTTOM! I recommend a thin line of our Liquid Tombo glue.  You want plenty of room inside for your card to slip in and out easily.

I took a 5" piece of the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack (the wide ribbon) and wrapped it from the back around to the front and attached it with Tear & Tape.  Don't worry about the seam, it will be covered.

Take a 15" piece of the thin Mossy Meadow thread from the Ribbon Combo Pack and wrap it twice and tie a little bow.

You will need to find the sentiment that works for you.  You'll probably be giving a gift card, so a simple "for you" will work great.  I found a business version Paper Pumpkin set I picked up at the last major convention we had.  It worked perfectly for what I wanted.

Here's a close up - better view.  I popped the sentiment up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The sentiment is die cut with a die from Stitched Labels.

Here's the back.

Wondering how I cut my DSP in half.  Just use your favorite cutter and line the left side up at 2 3/8".  Hold tight to the paper so it doesn't slide.

Now you have two bottom half pieces and you're ready to start assembling.

Thank you for looking in today.  Have a Blessed Sunday!

Christmas Cheer in a Cup

'Tis the Season for Gift Cards!  Gift cards always seem so impersonal, like you didn't take the time to come up with that personal gift.  However... when that person loves coffee, a gift card to their favorite coffee shop delivered in a cute card is perfect!

Recipe:
Thick Whisper White - 11" x 4 1/4", scored at 4 1/4" and 8 1/2"
Whisper White scraps big enough to stamp and cut the cup and lid from Merry Cafe
Quilted Christmas 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper - 4" x 4" and 4" x 1 1/2"

Stamps - Merry Cafe
Ink - Garden Green and Real Red

Fold card base on the score lines.  To make the inside pocket for the gift card fold in and adhere just the sides with Fast Fuse or Multipurpose Glue (Green Glue).

I believe when I make more, I'll add a bit more decoration inside.  I know I'll be making more, there's no doubt about that.

Thank you for looking in today.  Here comes another week!
