Bye Bye Grunge

I'm really going to miss Gorgeous Grunge... so I made another card for a birthday at the office.  This was a quick and easy card and since there are no flowers, it's a masculine card!

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Dapper Denim - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 5" x 3 3/4"

Stamps:
Gorgeous Grunge - Retiring
Big On Birthdays (142877)

Ink - Dapper Denim

I popped up the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Thank you for looking in today.  It's another Monday!

Bye, Bye Grunge...

Today we have a quick and easy masculine "Congratulations" card and of course I always go to my favorite Guy Grunge stamp set - Gorgeous Grunge.  I'm so sad to see this stamp set go away.  The splatters and splotches are just the right thing for those manly cards we all need.

Recipe:
Night of Navy - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" - spotted with Night of Navy ink
Night of Navy - 3" x 2"
Whisper White 2 7/8" x 1 7/8"

"Congrats" is from Tin of Cards (retiring)
"to you" is from Crazy About You (retiring)

Inside I added a little more splatter in the corners before writing on the card which will be going to my new boss at the office.

He was just appointed as Deputy Recorder and I am going to be his Executive Assistant.  Over the last 4 months I've had several people I've reported to, including the new County Recorder for a couple of weeks.  I think this week we've all settled in to where we are going to be and I'm pleased with where I'm ending up.  PLUS, I get to move back to my old workstation that I've been in for 26 years (minus the last 4 months).  I can hardly wait to settle in again!

Thank you for looking in today!  We're almost at the weekend!

Say It Isn't So!

Did you see the Retiring Stamps List???  Gorgeous Grunge is being retired!  Say it isn't so!  I keep waiting for them to say "just kidding!"

On the happier side of this card though is the reason why I made it.  A very deserving guy at our office was appointed as the Election Director today.  He's been the Interim Director since shortly after the first of the year when our previous Director retired.  We're all very proud of him being selected.  He will do an amazing job!

Since we work with Elections, I had to use Red, White and Blue, of course!

Very simple recipe:

Real Red - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4"
Night of Navy - 5" x 3 3/4"
Whisper White 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"
Gold Foil and Whisper White Circles (extras made from yesterday! They came in handy already!)

Stamps:  Gorgeous Grunge (retiring), Tin of Cards (retiring)
Ink:  Real Red, Night of Navy

Thank you for looking in today!  Remember to let me know if you need a catalog so I can get them ordered for you.  You're going to LOVE IT!

Way To Go!

This could be another Graduation Card, or just a "Way to Go!" for any other accomplishment.  Either way, I wanted to use my Bravo stamp set before it's time to send it on to the Retirement Rack.  I have a couple of versions.  This first one was actually my 2nd attempt and I like it much better.  Let me know what you think.

Night of Navy cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack - 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Whisper White - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Stamps:

Balloon Celebration

Ink: Crushed Curry, Hello Honey (retiring), Night of Navy

Card #2 Measurements

Forever Friends at First Sight

When I first saw Lost Lagoon, I wasn't terribly crazy about it.  It still isn't one of my favorites, but when I saw it Tuesday on LeeAnn Greff's blog, while catching up on some emails and blog reading, I fell in love with it, at least used like this.

Thank you LeeAnn for another beautiful card to CASE.

Isn't this just beautiful.  I think it must be the Very Vanilla that makes this color look so much prettier.

Be sure to use Tear and Tape to stick the Venetian Crochet trim.  Quick and easy!

Recipe:

Lost Lagoon (retiring!) - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Very Vanilla - 5 1/2" x 3"
Very Vanilla - 4" x 1 1/4" (banner)
Venetian Crochet (retiring) Trim - 5 1/2" / 4" and 4" (if you do the top and the bottom of the banner)

Stamps:  Gorgeous Grunge, First Sight - I strongly recommend the wood set for this one - there are two teeny tiny stamps in here that won't keep you smiling when they fly off the clear block when cleaning or stamping!

Ink:  Lost Lagoon (retiring - don't forget the refill!)
Sponge Daubers
Sweetheart Punch
Pearl Basic Jewels

I think this would also be beautiful in other colors as well.  It would really just depend on the person you are sending it to and what colors they might like.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I'd love it if you would leave me a comment.  I know I'm guilty of peeking at blogs and not commenting, but I'm trying to be better at it.

Have a Happy Hump Day!         ~ Donna
