Yes, It's Retired!

Ok, so this is retired, but it was a stamp I just couldn't let go of and now I'm glad I didn't!

At the office I've been working with the Farmer Brothers Coffee Rep to see if we can get coffee service at the office.  We have several that drink coffee all day long.  He's been so nice giving us things to try (yes, I know it's to hook us on the good stuff they have) and he even found a fabulous tea that I've been looking for.  I just wanted to give him a fun card to say "thank you" and what better way than this one?

I bet some of you still have this stamp in your stash of favorites too.  I know this is a keeper for me.

Recipe:

Chocolate Chip - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Neutrals Designer Series Paper - Chocolate Chip - 5 1/4" x 4"
So Saffron - 3 1/2" x 2 3/4"
Crumb Cake - 3 1/4" x 2 1/2"

Stamps: Perfect Blend / Endless Thanks

I stamped the cup on the Crumb Cake then again (just the middle) on So Saffron and the top onto Very Vanilla then fussy cut them out to layer onto the original stamp.

Since I couldn't decide which of the other two stamps that go with Perfect Blend, I decided to use both.  One inside (above) and one on the back (below).

Looks like my light source kind of washed out the back.

I hope we can go with their coffee company.  It will be nice to have an easy way to keep coffee brewing all the time, especially at election time.  Besides, they have other great beverages as well that we can purchase.  Their hot cocoa mix is fabulous!

A big thank you to Luis from Farmer Brothers Coffee... and thank you for letting me use a retired stamp today.

Happy FRIDAY!  (and a three day weekend!)

Work of Art Background

Have you ever thought of making your own background paper and thought it would be just too difficult?  Well it's much easier than you think!

The idea for this comes from Kay Kalthoff, the color choice comes from me.  I really do like how these came out and think it will make a great base card that can be turned in to just about anything.

The colors I used are Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar and Pistachio Pudding as well as Whisper White for the background and coffee cup.

The base is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4".  The background layer is 5 1/4" x 4".  The next layer is 3 3/4" x 2 3/4" and the Whisper White layer is 3 1/2" x 2 1/2".

Randomly stamp the "swish" from the new Work of Art stamp set that will be available beginning Monday, June 2nd at Noon Mountain Time (11 a.m. Arizona Time!) using your favorite three colors.  Stamp those same three colors randomly using one of the smaller "swoosh" stamps from the same set, then stamp the coffee cup from Perfect Blend over the colors.  Also stamp the cup on the small piece of Whisper White.  Also stamp the cup and a sentiment inside on a solid color you want for the cup sleeve.

Cut out the cup portion of the colored cup and cut out the sleeve portion.  Before adhering them to the cup on the Whisper White - use the light striped stamp and the small dotted splatter from Gorgeous Grunge over the bottom of the cup in 2 of the colors you've chose from your set of three.

Attach a piece of ribbon across the bottom and around the back and pop it all up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Mark your calendar for Monday Midday - Be the first to place an order from the new catalog!!

The first FIVE PEOPLE to order $30.00 or more from me between 11 a.m. June 2nd to midnight June 5, 2014, will receive a special card and a little surprise in the mail from me!     ** Stampin' Up! ordering will be down on June 2nd from Midnight to Noon (MDT) while they transition the system to the new catalog.  So be sure to wait or you will be frustrated with your order not working.  **

Mummy's Coffee Can Rule the World!

Perfect Blend has to be one of my favorite stamp sets - if you've been following my blog very long, you already know that!  Did you ever think it could be a Halloween Card?  Me either, but then the very talented Becky Roberts used it to make a cute "Mummy Cup" and I just had to do the same!  I changed up the stamps used and the DSP papers but it sure came out cute!  Thanks Becky for the great idea of this cute Mummy!

I Flip for Perfect Blend

I really love the Thinlits Card Dies that make the awesome Flip Cards.  Mix that with one of my favorite stamp sets Perfect Blend and you have a great fun card.

The idea for this card came from Cindy Beach, thanks Cindy!  Here you can see the cup helps to hold the card closed.  That is one thing with the flip cards, they do have a tendency to spring open pretty easy!  No problem there though since you want to be able to show it off standing up on your desk or counter top.

Recipe for this card:

Card Stock:  Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White (the cup looks like it's done on Very Vanilla, but I think that's just the shadow, since it really is in Whisper White).
DSP:  Season of Style DSP Stack (132181)
Stamps:  Perfect Blend (w-130745 / c-131392)
Ink:  Crumb Cake
Embellishments:  Season of Style Designer Washi Tape (132155)
Tools:  Labels Collection Framelits (125598), Label Card Thinlits Die (133479)

More Perfect Blend Gift Card Holders

I am still loving the gift card holder that we made last Saturday at Fall Fest and decided to make more using the Birthday Basics Designer Series Papers.  See it here with the gift card inserted.

Making these cards is so very easy with the Pop 'n Cuts Card Base Die (130099).  Simply take a piece of 8 1/2" x 11" card stock and cut it long ways at 4 1/4".  This will fit perfectly on the die and will just barely cut off the ends to shape them and cut the diagonal slits.

Using your Simply Scored, score at 3 1/2", 5 1/2" and 7 1/2".  You'll fold the card back on the center score and up on the other two scores, remembering to decorate the right side as the front of the card (the tab side would be the front and the slot side would be the back of the card.  It should look like a "W" from a side view.

Punch a slot across the top of the short inside area with the Word Window Punch (119857).  This will take two punches to have enough room for a gift card to fit into.  Use Sticky Strip (104294) to adhere the bottom of the card (under where the gift card goes) to keep it from sliding through and out of the card!  Yikes!

Decorate as desired.

Perfect Blend Gift Card

Here's another great project from Saturday's Fall Fest with Diana and Rhonda.  I just LOVE this idea.  I've made something similar before, but this one is made with the Pop 'n Cuts Card Base for the Big Shot.

This was so easy to make and with the great colors from the Season of Style DSP Stack.

Have you worked with the Chevron Ribbon yet?  I hadn't until Saturday and I'll tell you, that ribbon has a crazy optical illusion to it!  Seriously, on here it looks normal but cut a piece and lay it out in front of you and you'll think it's narrow on one end and wide on the other.  I even put it on the grid paper to see if I was crazy and it was even all the way across.  Very strange!  LOL

Stamps: Perfect Blend (w-130745 / c-131392)
Ink: StazOn Black
Punches:  1 1/4" Circle (119861), 1 3/8" Circle (119860)
Pop 'n Cuts Card Base (130099)
Ribbon:  Cherry Cobbler 3/4" Chevron Ribbon (130012), Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon (109070)

You can find everything you need to make this card on my website HERE.  If I can help you with anything, please let me know.  You can email me at StampsWellWithOthers@gmail.com.

Perfect Blend - Rule the World!

How many of you love this set?  I know I do.  So many cute ideas to do with it.  When I first started stamping with Stampin' Up! friends in 2010 we made a gift bag with "coffee ring stains" on the outside.  So when I saw this set, I knew I wanted to do something with the stains again.

Simply take a saucer or small plate and either Early Espresso or Chocolate Chip re-inkers.  Use just a couple of drops of ink and then add water.  You could either use a real coffee cup for the "ring" or like I did, use one of the empty embellishment boxes that buttons or brads come in.  Simply remove the lid and use the larger piece - dipping it into the ink / water mixture.  Gently press it onto your card - be sure to have some scrap paper or grid paper underneath so you can stamp off the page.  Be sure it dries completely.

I stamped several of the cups and then cut them out for layering on top of each other.  I also stamped the center of the cup where the insulator ring goes around the cup and cut it out as well and pieced it together.

I made two versions of the card.  Which do you like better?  I like the one with a bit of Washi Tape added to the card.  It gives it more color, don't you think?

A Perfect Blend of Friends

Here's another cute set from the new catalog - Perfect Blend.  A perfect card for my group of stampers who frequent Starbucks regularly.  This is a quick and easy card with a cute little addition.  Think how cute it would be with a coffee gift card inside!

Card Stock:  Very Vanilla (8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"), Soft Suede (3 1/4" x 2 1/2") and (5 1/8" x 3/4"), Coastal Cabana (for stamping the band) and more Very Vanilla for stamping the Cup.
Ink:  Early Espresso
DSP:  Epic Day This and That (130814) (3" x 2 1/4")
