Christmas Wishes

Here's another card we made at the special weSTAMP Team Founder's Circle.  So simple yet elegant at the same time.
 
The base is Brushed Silver (100712) cut at 4 1/2" x 11" then layered with (oh gosh, either Real Red or Cherry Cobbler).  My cards are on display at the office and I can't tell from the picture!  Either color would be great, just be sure to make the candle the matching color.  :)
 

 
The tops of the candles are punched with the Bird Builder Punch - the under side of the wing with the dip to it.  The flame is also from the Bird Builder Punch (117191).

Place a piece of copy paper or a piece of a large post-it note across the bottom of the front piece of card stock.  Carefully stamp the pine branch from Ornamental Pine onto the post-it and onto the card stock.  Don't worry if the line comes out crooked, you'll be covering it with your Christmas Wishes banner.

Add some bling from Frosted Sequins (135835) a pretty silver bow and you're all set!

Special Door Reveal...

I promised I would reveal what made this card "special"... well folks, here it is! 

I was trying to be clever when I stamped my door panels, but when I went to place the panels on the door, I forgot to place them properly!  I switched the mail slot panel with the one under the door knob.

Had I done it correctly, the woodgrain would all be going the right way!  Oh well, it just is a unique door!  :)

Flowers for Any Occasion

I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest the other day, but wasn't crazy with the color choices, so I pulled out my handy Color Coach (130118) and came up with So Saffron and Rose Red and added Very Vanilla for the main focal point.

Starting with a base of So Saffron card stock cut to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4".  The next layer, Rose Red is 5 1/4" x 4" and Very Vanilla at 5 1/8" x 3 7/8".

I stamped with Work of Art (w-134111 / c-134114) with So Saffron and then kept stamping off four times (although the one above I did re-ink the 4th one for a change).

Then Gorgeous Grunge (w-130514 /c-130517) with Rose Red.
 

I stamped a flower from Flower Shop (w-130939 / c-130942) and from Petite Petals (w-133152 / c-133155) with Rose Red.  Punch with Pansy Punch (130698) and Petite Petals (133322)
 

Finish with wrapping a piece of bakers twine or linen thread into a couple of loops around your fingers and then pinch together in the middle before attaching to the card front and covering with the large flower. 

Think of all the color combinations that could be used to change up this card.  Unlimited!

Thanksgiving Mail

I love the added "mail slot" this card has.  Simply place your gold foil paper on your Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334) and score every line along your paper.  Then punch with the Modern Label Punch (119849).  Something so simple really gives a big bang to this adorable card.

All Is Calm Christmas

On Saturday I was invited to a special weSTAMP Founders Circle at my leader's home.  It was a special day for me and four other girls from our team.  We were treated to some awesome projects and an amazing lunch.  And... oh...my... the most delicious dessert of Crème Brule! 

Here is one of our projects.  Makes me want to buy the Tree Punch now!   

So cute and easy - simply lay out some washi tape on a piece of Whisper White and punch with the Tree Punch (135859) from the 2014 Holiday Catalog.

 
DSP is All Is Calm (135823), Ribbon:  Lost Lagoon 3/8" Silky Taffeta (135841) and All Is Calm Snowflake Embellishments (137383).

Curvy Keepsake Meets White Christmas

Curvy Keepsake Boxes are everywhere!  All you have to do is check out blogs and facebook pages and of course Pinterest!

 

Most of them are "punch art" style with little or no stamping so I'm here to add some stamping to some of my Curvy Keepsakes.  I'm also here to save you some time and frustration.  In my head, I figured on cutting one die with DSP and the 2nd die with Whisper White.  Stamp on one side of the Whisper White and then glue them all together.  Guess what?  That was so wrong!  The die cuts in an "L" shape so when you place two pieces together you don't have opposite colors back to back, but rather side to side.

The solution:  Cut two (as you would for any time you're making a Curvy Keepsake Box) using your DSP of choice.  Then take a small piece of Whisper White (or whatever solid color you will be using) and cut out just the rounded top side - as shown below.

Trim at the score line so you only have what will be the front of your box.  Stamp on this piece and color it however you like.  Remember to curl it with your bone folder, as well as the four other sides of the DSP.   Using your adhesive of choice - I used our Tombo liquid glue for a tight bond.

 

 
Fill your box with whatever you want and you're all set with some cute little table gifts or place setting markers.  So Much Fun!

Happy 90th Birthday!

Now this is more cheerful!  Even better to be celebrating a 90th Birthday!  They say, the older you get, the higher the number of old gets.  At my age (55), the age of 90 doesn't seem so bad!  If you could see the recipient of this card, you'd NEVER guess that he just turned 90.

I really should have looked at my supplies a little better... I knew the Die Cut is retired, but I simply had to have the "90" on this card, but I didn't think about the paper.... sorry kids, it's retired too.  It was just so pretty and bright and I wanted something bright for this special occasion!
