Get Well Mummy!

I spotted this adorable idea on Jennifer Downey's blog.  Is this a great way to use the mummy stamp or what??

There are a few changes from her version, but the basic idea I simply fell in love with.  I've got the beginnings to make about 10 of these for gifts and for cards to have for sale.

Recipe:

Cajun Craze - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4"
Smoky Slate - 5" x 3 3/4"
Various Colors - 4" x 1 1/2" for the band and for the scalloped circle
Smoky Slate 1/8" Stitched Ribbon

To save cardstock, I stamped the "mummy" in the center of the Whisper White layer, then cut it out on the Big shot with the Layering Circles Circle.  I also cut out a scalloped circle about the same size in a different color card stock.

I stamped multiple mummies on the Smoky Slate with Smoky Slate Ink as a background layer.

Inside - Whisper White 5 1/4" x 4

Great Idea for the Designer Series Paper Sale

Have you heard about our Designer Series Paper (DSP) Sale!!?  From October 1st through 31st, when you Buy Three, Get One Free from selected packs.  What a great time to stock up on  your favorites!

With many of our wonderful packs of designer paper on sale through October, I thought I would make some cards to show off the Fruit Stand DSP.  The idea comes from Rachel Tessman (Thank You Rachel!) where she uses all the papers in the set.  I just chose a few of them to make a stack of cards for a friend who asked me for a variety box of greeting cards.

Recipe:

Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 3 1/2" x 2"

I used a two different sets of stamps for the sentiments.
Amazing Birthday (drats, retired - why was this still with my current stamps?  LOL)
and Watercolor Words

Peekaboo Peach 3/8" Ruched Ribbon
Real Red 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon

Ink:
Cucumber Crush
Memento Black

My Team Swap - September

I've been holding off sharing this one until we had our Team Meeting last Monday.  When we swap, we vote on a favorite, so I couldn't share this until after the meeting.

This card made me SO happy!

Recipe:
Base, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Soft Sky - 5 1/4" x 4"
Real Red - thin scrap to go under bottom line - dot - line
Real Red - small scrap to die cut Santa Hat
Whisper White 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Blushing Bride - scrap cut to fit behind face and mouth
Pacific Point - eyes (punched with Owl Punch)

Using the Detailed Santa Thinlits Die center it over the Whisper White front towards the top so the top border is the same as the side borders. To make the cut pieces come out easier, place a piece of wax paper or a small piece of a grocery bag or one of our Stampin' Up delivery bags between the Whisper White and the Die.  You'll be glad you did.  I also ran mine through a couple of times to be sure it cuts well.

Using the small border piece (the lines and dot) die cut across the bottom leaving room for your sentiment.

Sentiment is from Greetings from Santa - comes bundled with the Detailed Santa Thinlit!

Thank you for looking in today.  I hope you enjoy this version of the Detailed Santa.
