Life in the Heartland

As soon as I spotted this stamp set in the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog, I knew immediately that I needed it and I needed it for two specific people.  Wednesday my stamps arrived from my first full order from June 1st and this was the first thing I made.

My former boss, Karen, retired (and deserted me at the office! I miss her like crazy!) at the end of 2016 and has moved to a little town in Arkansas.  She still has family here, so comes back often and visits.  So this stamp set, Heartland, is just perfect.

Recipe:
Dapper Denim - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Color Therapy Designer Series Paper Stack - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White inside - 5 1/4" x 4"
3/8" Classic Weave Ribbon - Whisper White
Layering Circles Framelits
Stitched Shapes Framelits

This little guy can easily be colored with our watercolor pencils or using ink squeezed into the top of your stamp pad.  However, I've just discovered Chameleon Pens!  I love our Blendabilities so much and when we lost them, I looked for something to use.  My hubby actually spotted these (can you believe it?) and now I'm collecting and using them.  They are so much fun!

Here's every stamp that is in this set.  Isn't it just a great little set?

Heartland - Wood Mount - 143889 - $23.00
Clear Mount - 143982 - $17.00

Thank you for looking in today.  Has your first order arrived or are you still making your wish list?  My wishlist is still pretty long!

Happy Thursday!

Crazy Cat Lady

Last week at our Team Meeting, I was showing the girls my "Free Kittens" card.  If you didn't see it, you can go HERE to see it now.  One of the girls suggested how cute it would be to make one that said "Crazy Cat Lady Starter Kit".

So, that's what I did!  I can see one thing I didn't do, but I think I'll be making more of these so will update it then.  Next time, I want to add some background to the kitties.  Maybe a brick wall would go nicely there!

Recipe:
Cajun Craze - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Sahara Sand - 5 1/4" x 4"
Kitties - Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Smoky Slate, Soft Suede, Basic Gray and Cajun Craze.
Wood Crate - Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack

Inside, the side of the crate and one more kitty!  You can never have too many kitties!

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Hump Day!

Colorful Seasons Swap Card

I wanted to share one of the swap cards from our Team Meeting last month.  This one was made by Jennie.  Doesn't it just make you want to head for the beach and just breathe in the fresh ocean air?

Jennie used the bundle from page 147 in our new 2017 Annual Catalog with Colorful Seasons Stamp Set and Seasonal Layers Thinlits.

I just love the bright new in-colors.  Tranquil Tide, Berry Blast and Lemon Lime Twist.

I'm sorry I don't have more to share, but when we came home from the Vet with Suzi today (she's still doing normal things, just need her to eat more that a few bites at a time), but when we came home in 111 degree temperatures, we found our Air Conditioning wasn't.

Turned out to be a couple of fuses and our A/C guy was here in a couple of hours.  God bless that man, he has a HOT HOT HOT job in Arizona!

Thank you for looking in today!

Coffee Cafe Bundle

I can hardly wait for this set to arrive at my house early (hopefully) this week.  Until then, I thought I'd tease you with a little sneak peek video.  ** If you receive this in an email, you may have to go directly to the blog to see the video.

Something she doesn't cover in the video is the great Designer Series Paper that goes with it.  I just love the coffee pots and percolators on the one third in from the left.

Happy Birthday Hubby

Today is the hubby's birthday.  We both love old trucks and even though this is much older than the first one he had, I still made it the same color.  I wish I could tell you the color, but I've recently discovered Chameleon Pens.  There's not a lot of fading in this truck, but wait until you see it when I use them on some flowers.  Oh So Pretty!  I'm still hoping that someday Stampin' Up! will come back with some alcohol markers for blending, but for now, I'm in love with these.

Here's the recipe for the SU parts:
Very Vanilla - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Soft Suede - 5 1/4" x 4"
Very Vanilla - with the truck - 4 1/4" x 2 1/4"
Soft Suede - 4 3/8" x 2 3/8"
Very Vanilla - 4 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Stamps:  Country Livin'  and Happy Birthday Gorgeous
Ink:  Soft Suede

I used the watercolor pencils for the tires, lights, can on the side and the grass.

Thank you for looking in today!  We'll be off having his favorite breakfast at Ranch House Grille (which will qualify for lunch too!) and then to Outback Steakhouse for early dinner.  He loves their burgers.  I know, I know, it's a steakhouse, but he loves the burgers.  It is his birthday after all.  I love their wedge salad, so yummy with blue cheese and a balsamic reduction on a big wedge of a head of lettuce and of course steak!

Have a Blessed Sunday!

Quick and Easy Daisy Birthday

I just love it when our Designer Series Papers make such beautiful backgrounds for a quick and easy card.

Recipe:
Blushing Bride / Calypso Coral - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - Sentiment
Tranquil Tide - Scallop

Stamp Set - Pretty Kitty

So many color choices with this paper and a fast way to throw together a lot of cards at one time.  Leave off the sentiments until you need a specific one and then add it.

Perhaps pre-stamp several sentiments and have them ready, or give the cards and sentiments as a gift.

Thank you for looking in today.  Now it's back to marking my retired stamps and supplies and make room for the new toys that will be here soon!

Happy Saturday!

Catalog Casing Time

I always like to start out the new catalog year with a Case the Catalog Card.  This is the one I decided to case this year.  I just love this Moose or Deer, he's just cute!  The card the the catalog is on page 98 and appears to be a square card, so I made mine a standard card, I just prefer them more.

Recipe:
Sahara Sand - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"
Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper (DSP) - scraps used, and layered.
Stamps - Here for You
Ink - Crushed Curry

For my 2nd card, I decided to add the Bear from the same DSP.  He looks so sad, like he really wished he had something good to say.

Happy Friday!  Thank you for looking in today.  Have a wonderful weekend!
