Quilted Christmas Suite - sneak peek!

Tuesday was a crazy day at the office, especially after taking Monday off for the Eclipse and then a lot of confusion in downtown Phoenix with President Trump coming to town.  We had something happen that has never happened before in the 27 years I've been in my office, I was amazed!

Employees were sent home early to avoid the hoopla of the anticipated protesters.  The downtown County Courthouses all closed down at 2 p.m., the Administration building closed at 3 p.m. and I heard the State offices which are a couple of miles from downtown even closed and sent staff home at 1:30 p.m.

So, that being said, I got home early and hubby and I went to a nice early dinner and when I got home, I sat and then, I slept!  Guess my body was tired after the stress of figuring out what was going on.

So, today, you get a Stampin' Up! video from YouTube.  I think you will love it.  A sneak peek at a Suite that will be coming in the Holiday Catalog.  If you are reading this in an email, you will need to either go directly to my blog for today's post or you can click HERE to see the video on YouTube.

Have you received your Holiday Catalog yet?  If not and you want one, contact me and I'll be happy to send one to you.  If you already a Demonstrator, please contact them.  I don't want to "steal" anyone from another Demo.

Thank you for looking in today.  I should have something to show tomorrow.  Can't have another day like Tuesday!  ha ha!

Quote By Kazoo

Ok, I have to start today's post with a little background information.   My latest obsession, which keeps me from adopting a houseful of kittens, is to watch Kitten Academy on YouTube.  I discovered them in April 2017 and was instantly hooked.  Kitten Academy is a Foster Home that takes in pregnant cats so they have a safe place to have and raise their kittens and new mom cats with their babies.  It is Kitten Academy - Where Kittens Learn to Cat.  I love that!

The kittens are raised with a lot of human contact, contact with other adult cats (the faculty) and even a big gorgeous dog (who is also part of the faculty).  They learn about loud real life noises like television / radio.  When they graduate (go to the vet for spay or neuter), they are then eligible to be adopted through On Angels Wings in Illinois.

So much more to say about them, but their website Kitten.Academy will tell and show you so much more.  Check out their pictures and faculty.

So, now, on to the reason for today's card.  One of the recent graduates, Kazoo, had a favorite place to sit while at the Kitten Academy and it was called "the Contemplation Station" (shown below with Kazoo contemplating).  His future fur-ever Dad was always doing fun things with this picture and this was a recent one.

So of course, I asked Kazoo if I could quote him and he said YES!  SO, here is his card, with quote inside.  You probably knew this was going to be a Lemon Zest card!

Recipe:

Daffodil Delight - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Old Olive - 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Whisper White - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Stamps:  Lemon Zest

I stamped the slice in Daffodil Delight, stamped off once, then 2 or 3 times onto the Whisper White to make the background.

The full lemon is stamped with Crushed Curry onto Crushed Curry cardstock and the leaves Old Olive onto Old Olive cardstock, then punched out with the matching Lemon Punch.

I took Kazoo's quote and typed it up in a Word document, then just worked with the margins and spacing to get it where I wanted it.

Thank you for looking in today.  Be sure to check out Kitten Academy.  If you love cats and kittens, you'll fall in love too!

Happy Tuesday To You!

Eclipse 2017 - A Big Event!

You knew this would be out here today... right?  I don't know if any others have done anything with this yet, but I'm sure there are or will be.  This is such a big deal, I'm even taking the day off work to enjoy it completely, or as completely as we can get here in Phoenix, Arizona.  Regardless, it will be fun.  We have our safe glasses and we're ready!

We will only have about 70% coverage here, but that will still be very cool.  Have you seen the crowds gathering in the direct path of the total eclipse?  Oh My Goodness, that is just crazy!  Looks like fun though, but I'm glad we can just enjoy it from home.

Recipe:
Night of Navy - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Daffodil Delight - 3/4" circle punch
Basic Black - 3/4" circle punch

Stamps:  Labeler Alphabet
Ink:  Whisper White and Basic Black

To make the "glow" behind the moon, I punched out a 3/4" circle and held it in place where I wanted it.  Then using an eye shadow sponge I gently sponged the little bits off the circle and onto the Night of Navy.  Then I punched out a fresh Basic Black and glued it down.

Thank you for looking in today.  Be sure you have safety glasses on if you check out the eclipse!

Spoiler Alert - August Paper Pumpkin

I can't believe my kit came so quickly this month!  Wooo Hooo!  It was a total surprise to find it in my mailbox.  The funny thing is, well, I guess not funny, but certainly coincidental, is that earlier today Mary and I were talking at work about needing a kit to have at the office that would allow us to make a Sympathy Card.  Sadly those are needed just so unexpectedly.  So now, here we go!  If nothing else, that stamp will be going to my work kit.

These were very quick and easy to put together.  I've only done three so far, but the rest will come together quickly.

The "Thanks" and the "Congrats" were pre-printed so those will be limited, but the "Sympathy" is a stamp and can be used over and over.

Here's the best part - it came with a great little card box with a clear lid and a beautiful ribbon to tie it all up.  Even some pretty tags to add to the package.

Thank you for looking in today!  Have a wonderful weekend!
