While I have two sons whom I love dearly, I also have a "daughter" at the office whom I also love as if she were my own. Yesterday morning she called me in tears to tell me her Mom had passed away during the night. Oh my goodness, my heart simply broke for her. This was totally unexpected which makes it even more difficult.
I wanted to do a simple, but beautiful card for her. So this is what I came up with.
Recipe:
Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Blushing Bride - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 5" x 3 3/4"
I stamped with Memento Black and after it was fully dry, I colored it with my Chameleon Pens. I'm still learning to use them, but I sure love them. Truly, I'm hoping Stampin' Up! will bring back some type of alcohol marker, but in the meantime, I'm enjoying my Chameleon's.
Thank you for looking in today - especially since this is posting so much later than usual!
Please keep Brittney and her family in your prayers as they deal with the days ahead.

That is tough on Brittney. I am sure your pretty card will make it a little easier.
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor's (in the next block) husband died last week and I made her a card. I was so glad I added Teddy's name to the card and then she really knew it was from me. Her husband liked to give Teddy grief about his weight. As soon as he started chanting Teddy Teddy 2x4 can't get through the bathroom door or calling him 2 Ton Teddy - Teddy would interrupt being petted by Duane and want to leave. Even dogs are sensitive about their weight!
I hope beautiful memories of her mom outweighs the sadness Brittney feels.

I don't know how I missed this... I'm so sorry to hear about your neighbor. Bless Teddy's heart, that's so sad that he was offended. I would be too, but you don't think of dogs feeling it, but they are very smart.
DeleteThe little stinker we have knows when I've ordered pizza for dinner. We even stopped using the word "pizza" and say, "let's get a wheel tonight" didn't even mention "dinner" I think he knows the website. LOL No sooner do I order and he starts that little "woof" under his breath until the "wheel" arrives! Mark even said something on the phone to me driving home the other night about getting a spare tire to have if we need one. The things we do to trick the dogs.
You tell Teddy that Auntie Donna says he's just perfect! :)
