Otter Love

Valentine's Day will be here before we know it, so it's time to get working on more Valentine Cards!

Today's card is a quick and easy one, mostly because Monday was a very stressful day.   Besides waking up with a bit of a fever and feeling yucky, we also have an old dog who hurt his knee pretty badly on Friday night.  He has a torn cruciate ligament, which is going to require surgery.  So off to the vet we went for a 2nd appointment (he went first thing Saturday morning also) and to see what our options are.  The vet feels like he still has some good years ahead, so we've decided to go ahead with the surgery.  Thankfully we've been going to this vet for 22 years and she's willing to work with us on payments.  Thank God for good people that will do this, otherwise, there would be no way to manage it.

On to the card!  Like I said, quick and easy and CUTE!

Recipe:
Real Red - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4" (inside and out)
Real Red - scrap for sentiment

Stamps - Hey Love
Ink - Memento Black, VersaMark
Stampin' Blends - Soft Suede Combo, Crumb Cake Combo, Pool Party Combo, Cherry Cobbler Combo and Ivory

Even though you don't need the Combo for the Cherry Cobbler, I always suggest purchasing as a combo, because you may want both of them for other projects.

I used the Light Pool Party to lightly outline the Otters and to make the "ripples" in the water stand out a bit.  I colored in the "heart bubble (around the heart)" with the Dark Pool Party.

The sentiment is stamped with VersaMark and then used White Embossing Powder and my heat gun to set the powder.

Thank you for looking in today.  Please say a prayer for our little Nike dog.  He's in a lot of pain from the doctor exam today, since she x-rayed and manipulated his knee to feel what was going on inside.  Right now we're scheduled for surgery on the 21st, but would like to get him in sooner if possible.

Nike - look at that face!  :)

Hugs,
Donna

Birthday in a Bag is HOT

I spotted this idea on Susan Itell's blog last week and fell completely in love with it!  With someone special having a birthday this week, I just knew I had to try to whip one up and get it in the mail.  I would have loved to put more into the bag, but for a rush, this will work perfectly!

The bag is made with the Stampin' Up! Gift Bag Punch Board.  You can watch a video here on just how to use it.  It's very simple and will give you a great look!

I used Highland Heather - 11" x 7" and used the settings for a Medium Bag.  All the instructions and markings are on the Punch Board.

Inside there are some wrapped Hershey Nuggets covered with 1 1/8" x 3 1/4" How Sweet It Is  Designer Series Paper.  A couple of balloons a single serving Blueberry Muffin Mix - she loves tea and I thought a muffin would be a good match!  I also included a "singing" candle that when you turn the base, it plays Happy Birthday.

Here is a picture of the box of treats, Glaze Included!  Yay!

Thank you for looking in today!  Here comes another Monday!

How Sweet It Is

Did You Know???  The Jar of Sweet Framelits Dies match perfectly to the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper!  The jars on this card are actually die cut from the DSP and look awesome!  Of course, you can also stamp the jars and stamp candies inside or die cut candies from card stock and that looks awesome also.

Recipe:
Coastal Cabana - 4 1/4" x 11, scored and folded at 5 1/2"
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4" (times 2 - one for inside panel)
How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8" (dots)
How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper - 5 1/8" x 1 1/2" (stripes)
Whisper White - 3 3/8" x 4" - run through Big Shot with Subtle Embossing Folder

Coastal Cabana / Granny Apple Green 3/8" Reversible Ribbon

The Subtle Embossing is difficult to see, but it looks great in person!

Thank you for looking in today!  Have a great Saturday!  I'm doing a workshop today with some new stampers and I'm really excited to introduce them to our beautiful projects!
