Happy Birthday and Shop Small Saturday!

Here is a quick and simple card I made for Linda's birthday.  We celebrated on Tuesday or was it Wednesday... I've lost track of the days with a short work week!

Recipe:

Base - Night of  Navy - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4"
Night of Navy Mat - 4" x
Whisper White - 4" x 3" (I think... but since she has the card, I'm thinking I trimmed it down to 4" x 2 3/4" - just a smidge above the H in Happy and the y in Birthday)

Play with it and make the mat 1/4" bigger on the top/bottom (not side to side)

Seems I've lost my touch for posting... ha ha - bear with me, I'll be back on track soon.

I used Floral Boutique Designer Washi Tape across the Whisper White layer and folded the edges over the back so they stay put.

A little wrap of Night of Navy Baker's Twine and a bit of bling with Metallic Enamel Shapes.

Thankful for Thanksgiving

The Buttermilk Pie is baked and cooling and by the time you read this we'll be enjoying our traditional Breakfast Quiche, unless I sleep in... then Turkey Lurkey will be prepped for the roasting bag and into the roasting oven it goes!  Can't wait for that glorious fragrance through the house.

November 2016 - My Paper Pumpkin

This is a very easy card that looks fabulous!  I've only put three of them together so far, mostly because I'm still recuperating from long hours at the office.  I didn't realize how really tired I was until I didn't have to get up early on Saturday!  

There is very little stamping and lots of layering which really gives this card a great look.  I even mixed up the layers and turned them around and I like how it turned out.

There is a layer of vellum that is designed to go to the back, but instead, I put a layer of houses, then the vellum.  It makes it look like a fog  between the neighborhoods.

I'm Still Here....

I'm still here... just up to my ears in work email and haven't had any crafting time or for that matter much of anything but sitting at my office answering voter emails.

 

Those of you who know me know I work for the Maricopa County Election Department and this is our busy time.  Monday, October 10th was the last day to register to vote for the November 8th General Election and Wednesday, October 12th was the first day to receive an early ballot.

On Monday, I came in to the office at 8 a.m. with 200 emails waiting for me, when I left at 10 p.m. with 100 still in there.  You must be thinking, what a slacker!  BUT, I sent out answers to 373 people, so as I answered one, more (felt like thousands) came in.  Tuesday I sent out 310 emails and yesterday 252, working until 10 p.m. each day. 

Needless to say, I will be back, I miss my stamps, papers and inks, but working for the voters of Maricopa County comes first.

So, regardless of who you support, please remember to vote on November 8th - or if your area has voting by mail, call your local jurisdiction and vote from the comfort of home with a cup of your favorite coffee and enjoy your freedom to vote!

Christmas Cookies

At each of our team meetings, we have a swap for anyone that wants to sign up.  This card was done by my upline Lorri Heiling.  So cute that I just had to make one too.

I decided to use Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla for my card and thanks to Patti, a sweet friend of mine, my cookies are stamped so beautifully using the MISTI.  Thank you again Patti, I love playing with mine and it makes these cookies look fabulous!
