Falling In Love In Style

Did you know you can color this dress with one quick stamp?  That's right!  Inside the Beautiful You stamp set, is this simple little swoosh that is perfect for coloring this fabulous stamp!  For a perfect look, pull out your Stamp-a-Majig and you'll stamp it perfect every time!

I tried two versions here.  One with Soft Suede as the base and one with Crumb Cake.  Which do you like best?  

I sponged the Lace Doily with Blushing Bride and added some bling.

Recipe:

Soft Suede Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Falling in Love DSP - 4" x 3"
Very Vanilla - 4 1/4" x 3 1/4"
Very Vanilla - Largest Oval from Stitched Shapes

Crumb Cake Base - (same as above)
Falling in Love DSP - 4" x 3 1/4"
Very Vanilla - 4 1/4" x 3 1/2"

Post-It Easel Calendar

Today's project is a total CASE from LeeAnn Greff.  I couldn't help myself, she just has the cutest calendar box and I just had to.  Thank you LeeAnn, this is awesome!

I have to admit the main reason I bought this Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) was for the cute pink gingham, but after I opened the pack a couple of weeks ago, I found myself using some of the other papers first for a workshop.  At least I still have my gingham!

This is made with only one piece of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock and then just a couple of small pieces of DSP for decorating.  I chose Old Olive because I love the Sweet Sugarplum and I need to re-order more.

Below are the measurements for the box.  I don't have the template drawn up as this was a late night production after working on my super secret swap cards for our Team Meeting on Monday!

However, you can see all the details and LeeAnn's video here.  This is so fast and simple, you're going to LOVE it!  (p.s. I've ordered a stand to hold my cell phone, so I really hope to start making some videos soon...)

Box:  card stock cut at 7" x 4 3/4"

Easel: card stock cut at 10 1/2" x 3 3/4"

DSP:  3 1/2" x 2 1/4  and  3 3/4" x 3 1/2

You will also want your corner rounder, bone folder and preferably Tombo Liquid Glue.  It is my go to adhesive for pretty much everything.

Post-it notes will work great in here, but...

Since I didn't have any at the house, I looked around to see what else will fit.  Since the easel has a nice wide base to it, look what it will hold!

All of my Watercolor Pencils!  Yay!

It would also be a great holder for your business cards.  Keep them on your desk so they are always near by for mailing to your customers or to slip inside a little notecard.

See how nice they look there!  I purchased my calendars from Vippies.com.  I honestly thought I'd missed out as they sold out quickly last year, but I received an email that they had a sale while supplies last.  They arrived in a couple of weeks.  Very fast service.  I ordered the Medium size (2 3/8" x 1 3/4")

You could even use it for some light tools, the ones that always get lost on your desk.

Ok, that may be going a bit far, but hey, look there, it works!

Open Me Already!

Do you remember the old Kodak commercials at Christmas and the motto was "Open Me First!"?  It was brilliant because opening the camera first allowed you to take pictures of the rest of the gift exchange and holiday.

That was the first thing I thought of when I saw this sentiment.

So, earlier today *Wednesday* I asked my youngest son when he would like to get together for his birthday dinner and he decided tonight *Wednesday* would work well, so of course I agreed.

Next, get home from work fast and make his birthday card!  LOL  Here is what I made..  Kind of copied the card I made for my oldest son here.   Thank goodness for fast cutting!

Elegant Beautiful You

After making yesterday's Beautiful You posting, I found this in my inbox and just had to CASE it.  I changed one little thing, but the original card comes from Lynn Dunn.  Thank you Lynn for your inspiration!

Lynn used Silver Glimmer paper where I used the blue stripe and her measurements are a bit different.

Recipe:
Night of Navy - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper (DSP) - 5 1/4" x 1 1/2"
Floral Boutique DSP (with the stripe) 5 1/4" x 1"
Whisper White - 3" x 2" - for stamped image
Whisper White - 3" x 3/4" - for sentiment, snip ends into a banner.  Add Rhinestones.
Attach half of a Lace Doily from the Occasions Catalog behind the Whisper White before adhering to the card.

Stamp the image onto the darker DSP with Basic Black or Black Memento Ink.  Carefully cut out the dress and hat with your paper snips.  I tried two ways, one inside the main lines so the extra lines show up in Navy outside the cut image and one outside the lines so all of the image is the "dress material".

Stamp the same image onto the Whisper White piece in Night of Navy.  Using liquid glue add the dress and the hat to the Whisper White image.  The liquid glue allows you to move it around a bit.

Beautiful You Floral Boutique

Can you believe that I've had this DSP for MONTHS and just opened it!  I've had so many great ideas from others and on my own that I've been wanting to do and simply hadn't managed to get to any of them.

Finally, here is one of the ideas I've been toying with.  I stamped the image on one of the more open designs in the paper pack and then fussy cut the dress hair and hat in once piece to adhere onto the stamped image on Whisper White.

So as not to waste paper by stamping the girl first on Whisper White, I die cut the circles from Stitched Shapes and then stamped onto the circle.  The smaller sentiments can be stamped first and then cut because you don't need so much room for them and can guess the space needed better.  Of course, you could cut them first, whatever is easiest for you.

Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4"
