So I promised you yesterday how to make these cute little Dove Mini's Cups. They really are easy to do. The hardest part is saving the chocolate for the cups and not for tasting!
Begin with a piece of Designer Series Paper (I used real red cardstock to show you the markings easier) 4 1/2" x 2".
On the 2" side score down the middle at one inch.
On the 4 1/2" side score at 7/8", 1 7/8", 2 3/4" only to the 1" score line. At 3 3/4" score all the way across.
Remove the portion where the "X" is.
To save time, place two pieces of Tear and Tape as shown above and then cut on the first three score lines. Also one small piece on the tab above where you removed the small corner.
Remove the liner from the tape on the small tab and folding it back so the tape doesn't stick to the wrong place, bring it around and attach it to the other side - as shown below.
Gently fold in each of the bottom pieces. You may need to snip off just a bit at the very bottom if they don't fold in without overlapping. The one that doesn't have any Tear and Tape will be the last one to adhere.
Fold in the first piece, then remove the tape liner and place the second fold down onto the exposed tape.
Continue all the way around until you get to the last tab.
Take a piece of matching cardstock 4" x 1/2" and gently curl it with your bone folder. Place a bit of Tear and Tape on each end about 3/4".
Place one end under the 3rd flap on the bottom. Add 2 more small strips of Tear and Tape to the inside of the last tab and place it over the strip.
Take the other end and place it inside the cup.
Take a length of Bakers Twine about 12 inches long (depending on the size bow you want) and lay it over the cup as shown below. I used both of the Candy Cane Lane twines for added color.
Place two Dove Mini's together, bottom to bottom and gently place them into the cup, pressing down on the twine.
Bring the twine to the top and tie a bow.
Okay, now, take a breath here, this could be hard for some of you to handle. I needed something that would fit inside the 1" circle. So I took "Merry Wishes" from Oh What Fun stamp set and I (yikes!) cut it in half! It can still be used lined up together and being Photopolymer, it will be so easy to use as one or two words!
Are you okay? Take deep even breaths... it will be fine. It took my breath away the first time, but now, no big deal and it is kind of fun to re-design a stamp!
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you enjoy making these great little treats!

These are adorable and also edible! Love them :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jennie! They are so fast and easy to make! It is so nice of you to take the time to comment! Thank you for that! Hugs!
DeleteLooking forward to trying my hand at these some day. Your photos were a great help. Some how I think I would eat more than I would get in the little cups! The cups are just too cute. I can see them hanging on a little Christmas tree in the kitchen too or a centerpiece for a little cookie swap party or something fun!

The key to having enough of the candies is to purchase two bags! LOL Seriously after one or two, I was done. Mostly because I didn't want to buy more!
DeleteThey would look adorable on a tiny tree! I may do that at the office, maybe. :)
