Celebrate Valentine's

Yes, yes, another Valentine Card.  Sadly this didn't photograph well, but the background behind the balloon is our Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Paper that you can get for FREE as a Sale-a-bration item.

This was fun to put together with the cute little hearts punched out with the Confetti Heart Border Punch (137415) and the Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (137364)

Minimal stamping - just the "happy valentine's day" from Teeny tiny Wishes and the "balloon basket" from Celebrate Today (137138).  There was a bit of fussy cutting to cut out the basket, but the balloon is a framelit that comes in the bundle with the stamp set.  Love the bundles!

Thanks for looking in today.  Back to the office for me!

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Birthday Gift Card

Do you love to give gift cards and always wonder how to make giving them even more fun?  Well, I've got a new way to give a gift card in a cute hidden, well, kind of hidden spot.

This can be used with any card you make because the surprise is inside.

When making your card, add an extra layer inside and using your Wide Oval Punch make a gap for a gift card to slip in.  Be sure to attach the layer and mat to your card with Sticky Strip along the edges so the card won't slip out the bottom or side.  I placed adhesive across the top, the left side, all along the bottom but then only under the punch.  See picture below for where NOT to put sticky strip.

Slide your card inside and you're ready to go!

My measurements are as follows:

Bermuda Bay base card - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4"
Birthday Bash Specialty DSP Mat - 5 1/4" x 4
Crushed Curry 3 1/4" x 2 3/4"
Whisper White 3" x 2 1/2"

Inside:
Crushed Curry 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White 5" x 3 3/4"

Thank you so much for looking in today.  If you have the day off, enjoy it with stamping!

Be Mine Valentine

Less than a month away from Valentine's Day!  Are you planning your favorite cards yet?  It will be here before you know it!

Let me show you another quick and easy card you can make.

Begin with a base of 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 8 1/4"
Stacked with Love DSP - 5 1/4" x 4"
Real Red Mat - 4 1/4" x 3"
Whisper White - 4" x 2 3/4"

The heart is from Epic Alphabet (133663) stamped with Real Red onto Whisper White and punched out with the Sweetheart punch (133786).

Stamp "Be Mine" from You Plus Me.  The "Be Mine" has three little hearts above it.  I wanted more hearts to float up from it, so I used the line of hearts from the same set.  I only used two of them from the right side end by carefully inking up just those two with Real Red.

Inside a piece of Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4" and stamped with the same line of hearts.  The great thing about stamping those in a line, they aren't straight, so you don't have to worry about matching it up perfectly.  Love that!

Now, wasn't that easy!?  These could easily be made in multiples for all those special Valentine's you have to send cards to.

Thanks for looking in today.  Find everything you need to make this card by clicking the items below.  The links will take you directly to my website for shopping.

Have a Blessed Sunday!

Are You Twitterpated?

This little card came together in minutes!  The most time consuming was cutting out the lined hearts.

Now, I do have to admit, I thought those hearts were smaller than they were and began by cutting out with my paper snips just outside the line.  Low and behold, they were the same size as the solid heart that I had punched out with the Sweetheart punch.   Grrrr... so, I snipped them again, but inside the line.  It would actually look better if the heart was a bit smaller, but this will work for now.

The smaller hearts are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Love how easy it is to add dimension with those little foam bits!

Thank you for looking in today.  Three day weekend ahead and this girl has a lot of de-cluttering to do around here.  It's time to clear out the old and yard sale or donate!

Happy Saturday!

Making it a Happy Day!

Thursday was just 'one of those days'... actually, it's been 'one of those weeks', so I decided it was time for a Happy Day card!

I actually spotted the idea for this card from Connie Stewart.  I changed up the colors, ribbon, sentiment and added an extra layer, but it was her idea and it made me happy!  So it became my project for Thursday night for posting today.

I used Pistachio Pudding and Pink Pirouette for the colors.  I stamped the bunny from Cheerful Critters onto Whisper White 2 1/2' x 2 7/8" with Black Memento ink and then stamped her dress again on a scrap of Whisper White so I could punch her flower corsage.  The white layer goes over a Pink Pirouette layer 2 5/8" x 3 1/4"

Then I stamped her dress several times onto Pink Pirouette using Strawberry Slush.  I cut out her dress and adhered it to the white and black image.  I punched additional flowers out of the other pink dress dots.

The card base was cut at 11" x 4 1/4" and scored it at 5 1/2".  The 2nd layer is 5 1/4" x 4" and embossed with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I hope this cute little card has cheered you up.  It sure worked for me!

OH.... BY THE WAY....

Have you spotted the newest Photopolymer Stamp set?  It is called Better Than E-Mail and it is perfect for those great "back of the card" stamps!  They are also great for any other part of your card!

Thanks for looking in today!  Have a wonderful weekend.

Half Sheet Valentine Treat Box

This is an adorable idea for a half-sheet treat box designed by Julie Davison.  It makes the cutest little box to put a few Valentine candies inside for that someone special.

The Confetti Hearts Border Punch fits perfectly on the front panel and adds just the right touch.

I recreated Julie's template below:

  • Begin with a piece of cardstock measuring 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
  • Score at 1 1/2", 4", 5 1/2" and 8"
  • Turn 90 degrees and score at 1 1/2"
  • PUNCH your hearts border before cutting or folding **
  • Cut on the solid lines up to the 1 1/2" score line - remove the corner with the X
  • Fold on the score lines
  • Use Sticky Strip or Fast Fuse to adhere the box together

I used white two sided tape to show you where to put your Sticky Strip or Fast Fuse.

The last piece that you'll attach will be one of the big flaps.  I forgot to put adhesive on there for you to see, but you get the idea.

Fill a Cellophane Bag with treats and tie off with a pretty ribbon.  You can find our Cellophane Bags on page 200 of the Annual Catalog.

I decorated the front of the bag with a strip of Stack with Love Designer Series Paper Stack from the Occasions Catalog and a piece of Whisper White.  The DSP is 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" and because it blended in too well with the Real Red cardstock, I added a piece of Whisper White 2" x 2 1/2".

The stamp is from You Plus Me, also from the Occasions Catalog, and punched with new Sweetheart Punch from the Annual Catalog.

BIG Thanks to Julie Davison on her example and to Stampin' Up! for all the fun toys they provide so we can make such beautiful creations!

Thank  you for looking in today... Valentine's is less than a month away - it's time to start planning those hearts and flowers!

Remember - with every $50 purchase (before tax and shipping) you can select a free item from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  Don't miss your chance!

Celebrate Today's Happy Birthday!

When I saw this set, Celebrate Today with matching framelits, I just knew I had to have it!  I don't mind fussy cutting a lot of things, but I'm not good at fussy cutting a circle!  Who is, right?

Then when I saw the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper (pg. 4 - 138633) - available FREE in the Sale-a-bration catalog, I thought the circles shown here, would be perfect to go with the balloons.  See how nicely they go together?

I used Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana for my color choices - love these two colors together, they are so bright and cheery!  There is a bit of a learning curve on the solid balloon stamps, but they look better after they dry, so don't panic the first couple of times you stamp them.

For the dotted balloon, I stamped the solid first with my color and then using the dots stamp that's in the set, I stamped again with the same color.

The ribbon is also a Sale-a-bration freebie - Best Year Ever Accessory Pack (pg. 4 - 138634)

My measurements:
Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" - scored at 4 1/4"
DSP - 5 1/4" x 4"
Mat - 3 3/4" x 2 3/4"
Whisper White - 4" x 3"

Thank you for looking in today!  It's HUMP Day!
