Christmas Magic - updated!

Today's card is a re-arranged cased card from Joyce Whitman.  I spotted it on Pinterest and loved the clean lines and just had to give it a go.  I rearranged the layout and used a different sentiment stamp.  Trust me, finding a sentiment to fit into that little space was tough.  Thankfully I had a couple of friends over that had some sets that I didn't have so we found something that would work.

Recipe:

Crumb Cake - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
   (or 11" x 4 1/4", scored and folded at 5 1/2")
Real Red - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White 5 1/4" x 4" (inside)

Pieces and Parts:

Whisper White - 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" (snowman)
Crumb Cake - 2 3/4" x 2" (snowman)

Whisper White - 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" (bell)
Crumb Cake - 2" x 2" (bell)

Whisper White - 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" (sentiment)
Crumb Cake - 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" (sentiment)

Designer Series Paper DSP - 2 3/4" x 1 1/4"
Crumb Cake (3" x 1 1/2")

The snowman, stamped with Black Memento ink, is colored with Real Red, Pool Party, Garden Green, Crumb Cake and Pumpkin Pie).  You should be able to click on the picture and have it open in a bigger format, easier to see.

The bell is stamped with Crumb Cake and the sentiment with Real Red.

** Outside sentiment (which I forgot to list originally) is from Hang Your Stocking.  Thank you Linda for noticing!

Inside the sentiments come from Tin of Tags and Snow Place.

Thank you for looking in today.  It was sure fun to be able to stamp again and be creative without being so tired I just wanted to sleep!

Have a Blessed Sunday!  ~ Donna

  1. Fun card. I have been going back to the Paper Pumpkin XMAS kits for smaller sentiments and able to find some that work in tight spaces. You already figured out about the Tin of Tags set. I have some odd pieces of some favorite papers from last year and this would be a great time to use some of the pieces. Such a bright and cheerful card. Love all the layers too!

We are having our first snow fall today. Good day to work on my cards and finish decorating the tree. We actually had one cut for us so we could put it up on a small table just in case a wandering dog decided to investigate. So far, he hasn't checked it out but as soon as those ornaments go on, that might be different!

    1. I didn't think about the Paper Pumpkin kits for small sentiments! Great idea! Thank you!

First snowfall would make a perfect day for hot cocoa and card making! We bought an artificial tree this year - not happy about it, but we have a kitty that keeps getting a UTI about this time and we want to see if it has to do with the tree / water. With 6 cats, we haven't done ornaments in years. LOL - just lights.

  2. Well, the needles are so sharp on our tree it only has a few ornaments on it so far. Mike put the lights on it with his gloves on! I thought Ted might investigate the water too but he really has not gone in that room to check it out unless I go in that room. It is like a sun room with lots of windows. I sure hope that took care of the cat and the UTI problem. Well. back to my cards!
