Beautiful Season

So sorry I've been MIA this week.  On Sunday as I was preparing for my Birthday Calendar Class I managed to trip over something and did a faceplant into a very solid wood desk.  Thankfully, I think my glasses saved my eye from any long term damage.  I do look like I've been in a bad fight however.  Why is it that bruises look worse as they should be getting better?  My eye was swollen shut for a full two days and then slowly started to peek through on Tuesday night.

Now that I can see again, I did some creating yesterday evening and this morning and I wanted to share as soon as I could.

If you haven't looked closely at the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper, you might want to.  Two of the sheets inside are beautiful laser cut doily designs.  You'll notice they are Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo, but on the back, they are Whisper White and when cut apart with your Snips or Craft Knife, they make beautiful snowflakes!  Each sheet has 16 "snowflakes" which gives you 32 total to use as a beautiful focal point on your Christmas Cards.

I saw this card design on Sarah's Ink Spot and changed it up a bit with the stamps and embossing folders I have available.  See what you think.

Recipe:
Cardstock - Real Red and Whisper White
DSP - Flirtatious
Stamp Set - Beautiful Season (w-122680 / c-122682)
Ink:  Garden Green (for sentiment) and Staz-On Black
Stampin' Pastels (for coloring)

Cool Tools:
Embossing Folder - Snow Burst (124096)
Decorative Label Punch (120907)

I'm really happy with how it turned out and I'm off to go make some more!  Have a great day!

Some Cards to Share

There's been creative time this past week, but no time for posting, so here's a catch up of this weeks creations.  A couple of these were made by Linda, one of my customers and co-worker (um... she's one of my bosses, so be nice... lol).

I just love this first one.  She got the idea from an old post from Mary Fish but made a few changes to it.  Mary's was a square card and Linda made hers the standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card size.  So much easier to mail.  We actually finished this one together on Friday since Linda didn't have the Scallop Trim Corner Punch (118870).  Linda made two cards, one with blonde hair and one with dark hair, each for one of her little neices.

Recipe:

Cardstock:  Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Watercolor Paper.  DSP - Patterns DSP Brights, Island Oasis (retired).

Stamps: Greeting Card Kids (w-119887 / c-120663) and Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370 - wood only available).

Inks and Markers:  Black Staz-On, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, Rich Razzleberry, Sahara Sand, Blush Blossom, Old Olive.

Punches: Scallop Trim(118402), Scallop Trip Corner (118870).

Finishing Touches - Ribbon - Rich Razzleberry with dots (retired), Basic Rhinestones (119246) and Basic Pearls (119247).

Linda also made this card for a friend of mine who's going through some serious health issues.

This is a card I made for the same friend.  She received it already, so I can post it now.  Didn't want to post it where she would see it first.

This card uses:  Herb Expressions (113224), Perfect Plum c/s, Whisper White c/s and Nursery Nest DSP (122347).  There are so many pretty papers in the Nursery Nest pack that can be used for so many things besides babies.  I used Stampin' Write Markers to color the flowers - Perfect Plum and Pear Pizzazz.  Punch used was the Decorative Label Punch (120907).

This one is the same as above except I used Pretty in Pink.

Every little boy (and lots of girls) LOVE Legos!  This card was really fun to make.  I have to admit, my fingers were very colorful after sponging the little circles with ink to give them depth, but it was well worth it for how it turned out.

I used the middle sized round from the Owl Builder Punch (118074) to make the small pieces.  Colors used were Pacific Point, Real Red and Whisper White.

Stamp Set:  Bring on the Cake (w-121899 / c-121958)
Thanks for looking in today and hope you enjoyed the fun cards we have to share.

Have a great weekend and create something pretty!!

Arizona Fall Beauty

We had a wonderful time on our getaway, but I'm so very glad to be home so I can sleep in my own bed and actually get a good nights' sleep.  The room we had was awesome and the bed was very comfortable, I just couldn't rest and fall asleep.

But on the bright side, here are some beautiful pictures of the trees and our awesome room.  If you are ever in Payson, Arizona you should check out the Majestic Mountain Inn.  This was our second time visiting there and we've been very pleased both times with the facilities and our stay there.

Thi is the view as you come in the door from the parking lot, notice the back door out to a grassy area facing the back doors of the other building facing us.  We had two rocker patio chairs out there to enjoy the sunset with.
This is facing the other way - see my little Bugg peeking in the door?  LOL

We drove from Payson up to the higher elevations towards and into Flagstaff, AZ.  Aren't the colors beautiful!

This beauty was taken inside Flagstaff.  There were only a couple of truly red / orange trees like this one.

This isn't a great picture since the reflection from the dashboard is right down the middle of the tree (NO, I'm not driving, Mark is...lol) but this particular tree is native to well, I'm not sure... maybe to T-Mobile or Verizon.  It's a FAKE TREE with cell antenna's up at the top.  How funny is that??  It's bigger than any of the real pine trees around it!
Well, that's my post for today.  Off to package up Linda's workshop order that came in yesterday so I can take it to the office tomorrow.

Hope you had a great day!

MIA for a bit...

I'll be away from the computer for a few days, so won't be available to post anything, but when I return, I'm hoping to be able to post some beautiful pictures of some of Arizona's Beauty and the changing of the colors.

Be creative for me while I'm away.

Spotlight on Oz

I just love the creativity of this card!!  This card was made by Linda this week for Helen's birthday earlier this week.  Helen is from Kansas and has a great collection of Wizard of Oz stuff.

Check out this adorable Dorothy.!!

It's all SU except for the flowered paper.  Linda was aiming for "sunflowers" to go with Kansas and this is what she had.

Take a close look at the braids - this is where I love the creativity - she used the branch from the Bird Punch and then cut off the leaves - it really looks like braids!

So, I'm off to finish getting ready for tomorrow's workshop.  Have a wonderful weekend - make something crafty!
