Sweet Sugarplum Baby Bear Thank You

This little bear and I are going to have to spend more quality time together.  It is so beautiful, when I line it up right, but lining it up right doesn't happen every time.  Don't worry, it's still totally worth it for how beautiful it turns out!  Perhaps if I had better lighting in here it would be easier.  Going to have to work on that.

I learned a tip from Frenchie Stamps on how to stamp this sweet bear with just ONE ink pad color.  Instead of trying to figure out three colors to use, which sometimes can be difficult if you're just not sure, just pick one color.

This one today was made with Soft Suede.

The key to making it work is to first use stamp #3 (each stamp is numbered in the case), ink it up and stamp it onto your paper.

Then stamp #2 - ink it up, stamp off once onto copy paper or scrap paper (our grid paper works great for this!).

Then stamp #1 and stamp off three times.  It's perfect!

The easiest way to line up the bear - when you have proper lighting, is to line up the center "bottom" of the bear and line up with one of the ears.  It just takes some practice.

Recipe:
Stamps - Baby Bear
Sweet Sugarplum - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4
Sweet Sugarplum 5" x 1 7/8" (punch with Banner Punch)
Whisper White 5" x 1 3/4" (punch with Banner Punch)
Playful Palette 5" x 1 5/8" (punch with Banner Punch)

Now, layer your three banners with the length spacing you wish and trim them all up on the top.

Whisper White - 3 1/4" x 3"
Sweet Sugarplum - 3 3/8" x 3 1/8"

Since the three layers of banner can be a little thick, I popped up the Bear and the mat with Stampin' Dimensionals on the sides.

Tie a sweet little bow using the Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon and attach with a glue dot.

Thank you for looking in today.  Happy Friday!  ~ Donna

  1. Beary cute! Love the big bold banner matching it's bow. You did a great job on the bear. You posted this at midnight - what time did you make the card - that might contribute to the lighting problem! So fun that it is a thank you card and not just a baby card.

    1. I post all of mine at midnight. I try making them earlier in the evening, sometimes it is midnight or after, but I always schedule for midnight if I get them done early. I have an Ott Light and my dining room ceiling fan with four lights, but sometimes it's just tough to get lined up for me. Maybe its my old eyes. :|

The thank you card is always good, no matter what picture is on it, don't you think?

      Thank you for your comments!

  2. Ott lights are great. I agree about thank you card and sometimes I am too lazy to send them though. Or, I just don't feel mine are good enough. Dumb, I know.

    1. I bet they are just fine! We all think that about our own cards sometimes.
