Fun Fold or No Fun Fold

There's not much left of my Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper, so I'm trying to use it all up.  I love it so much, but I know there are some pretty new papers to look forward to very soon!

So I've made two versions with this one.  One with a "fun fold" aspect.  See the "hello friend" flap, that's the fun part!

Here it is opened up.

Recipe:
Blackberry Bliss - 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
Peaceful Poppies DSP - 4" x 5 1/4
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4" (inside panel)

Whisper White -  1 3/4" x 2 1/4"

Stamps:  Simply the Best
Ink:  Blackberry Bliss

Blackberry Bliss - 1 7/8" x 3 1/4"
Score on the right side and fold under.

Attach to the Blackberry Bliss base so that the scored line is on the edge:

Attach the Whisper White (4" x 5 1/4") over the flap:

The "No Fun Fold" version simply attaches the sentiment to the top with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Instead of scoring, the Blackberry Bliss is trimmed on all four sides.

Thank you for looking in today.  Happy Monday and if you're heading back to the office, stay safe and healthy.  I've not been asked to return yet and I'm really hoping I can keep working from home. Say a prayer for all those who do have to return to the office.

Hugs,
~ Donna

You Always Deliver

On Thursday my UPS driver is supposed to arrive with a box of gold for me!  Well, to me it's like gold, it will be my Stampin' Up! Catalogs!  I haven't even received my single issue yet, watch it come tomorrow in the mail!  Some people have theirs, some do not and I'm getting so anxious!

In the past I've made chocolate chip cookies for my driver and he's always loved them.  I figured during this Covid 19 stuff, he wouldn't want homemade anything.  BUT, I made a banana nut loaf mix and after I started prepping, I realized it had walnuts in it and Mark is allergic to walnuts.  So, I've wrapped it up and will see if my driver wants it.  If not, at least it's out of my house and I won't be tempted to eat the entire thing.  I won't be offended if he tosses it, just get the calories away from me!  LOL

So, this stamp set was at the top of my WISH list when I first got last years catalog, but I just FINALLY got it in April because it is going away and I couldn't let it get away from me.  It will be one of my keepers.

Recipe:
Soft Suede - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"

Black Berry Bliss - 3 7/8" x 4 3/4" (apx. cut with layering rectangles)
Whisper White 3" x 4 3/8" (apx. cut with layering rectangles)

Whisper White 4" x 5 1/4" inside panel

Ink: Memento Black, Blackberry Bliss
Blends: Soft Suede, Ivory, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake

Don't let this cute set get away from you.  If you have a favorite delivery man or mail carrier, this is the set for you to have too!

Thank you for looking in today.  Happy Friday Eve... wishing it was Friday!

Graduations may have to happen differently this year, but that doesn't mean the Graduation Gifts can't still be managed while keeping social distancing!  Thank goodness for the post office!

Retired Buttons and Ribbons

This has been my evening project the last couple of nights.  Lately we've all seen posts and messages about how uncomfortable the face masks are when wearing them all day.  Especially for those on the front lines in hospitals and medical offices.

When the Clearance Rack updated recently, I bought some ribbon and buttons and also dug through my old ribbons and buttons and started sewing.

I rolled the edge over twice and stitched the edge and the fold, then added the buttons.  They aren't beautiful, but I'm hoping they will be helpful.  I gave the first batch to my son who is an Oncology Nurse at Mayo Clinic.  He said they had been receiving a lot of different things with the same goal in mind and would share mine as well.

I'm still making more.  It's nice to have something to keep my fingers busy while watching t.v. with the hubster.

The ribbon is about 9 inches long, before adding the fold and button.  I only fold over about 1/4" twice, then stitch along the side, across the fold and up the other side.  Then move my needle into the middle and stitch the button on tight.

So, if you have extra ribbon and buttons you don't know what to do with, here's an idea.  I'm certain you can find plenty of people who would love to have them!

Stay Safe, Stay Healthy and Stay Connected with friends and family, but safely!

Garden Kitty

I have a confession.  One of the main selling points on this stamp set for me, the kitten.  It just won my heart over.  Of course I love the ease of coloring this set and the awesome gate dies, but the kitten is the heart!

This is a super fast and easy card and so sweet!  Of course you can use any colors you wish and have a variety of cards.

Recipe:
Highland Heather - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4" (cut two - one inside and one outside)

Stamps:  Grace's Garden - be sure to get this before the new catalog begins while it is still a BUNDLE!
Ink:  Memento Black
Stampin' Blends: Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green, Smoky Slate, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry.

Inside I added the kitty again!

Works nicely with other colors as well.

Thank you for looking in today!

Ran Out of Ribbon!

I rarely run out of ribbon because I forget to use it most of the time!  But that's not true today, I'm so sad I ran out of my Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon!

I was planning for a very small Stamp-a-Stash for Friday night and when I pulled out the ribbon there was enough for three cards.  Ugh!  So, each person will get to make one and I have my sample.

Recipe:
Petal Pink - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Old Olive - 3 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Best Dressed Designer Series Paper - 3" x 5 1/4"
Whisper White scraps for Sentiment

Stamps:  Dressed to Impress
Ink:  Old Olive

Below is what the Stamp-a-Stash cards the way we made them with Whisper White Bakers Twine.  No sentiments on my samples so I can use them later for whatever I need.

I'm going to miss this beautiful paper so much!

(ooooh I just noticed this one isn't centered! LOL)

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Saturday!
