If you know me at all, you know I love cats. I don't consider cats spooky, but I sure think they make great Halloween cards. This one was a fun and easy to make.
Recipe:
Pumpkin Pie - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 3 3/4" x 3"
Pumpkin Pie - 3 1/2" x 2 3/4"
Basic Black scraps (to punch 2 more cats)
Slide the small piece of Pumpkin Pie into the Cat punch as far as it will go and punch.
Using the Spooky (wordy) Cat, stamp onto the Pumpkin Pie cat that you punched out. The stamps are Photopolymer, so they are easy to line up and see through. You could also stamp a cat onto another piece of Pumpkin Pie and then punch that out if you have trouble lining up the stamp.
To give a deeper look to the cat, punch out two more from Basic Black and layer them behind the Pumpkin Pie cat. I recommend using our Multi-purpose Liquid glue for strong support.
Wrap a piece of Basic Black 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon around the Pumpkin Pie piece, then add to the Basic Black mat. Pop the cat up with Stampin' Dimensionals over the opening where your original cat was punched.
I ran the front of the card through the Big Shot with the Woodland Embossing Folder.
The cute little bats are from a carry-over set from last year, Sweet Home. Notice the kitty's eyes? Those are new in the Holiday Catalog and make a great addition to bling with.

Cute card, if spooky can be cute! I love the background embossing folder you used, purrfect! I like the way you popped up the cat with several punched out black cats rather than just dimesionals for depth! Too bad the screen doesn't show the eyes very well. The word SPOOKY should be a smidge higher than you could put the rhinestones in the centers of each of the "O" in the word.
ReplyDeleteMike's teacher friend in Houston may not have lost everything but they had several feet of water in the house. We have not heard yet for sure what all was damaged. But, what is amazing is the one bayou that engulfed so many streets within a few miles of our house is back in it's concrete banks. There was a photo in the Des Moines Register and we recognized the house and there was grass and mud where water was last week at this time. I have been tasked to make some thank you cards for the church we belonged to down there to give their volunteers and our town is sending shipments of stuff for the cats and dogs that have been misplaced etc.
