Farmhouse Christmas Ornament

This was another Make and Take from our team meeting last Monday.  These came out so cute!  Thank you Lorri for coming up with this great idea!

The ornament came from Hobby Lobby and are very easy to assemble.  There is a template inside to use for your base circle.

We used Pool Party for the center and stamped on the back with Real Red (see 2nd picture below).

On the other side that you see below, we attached the fence from Farmhouse Framelits dies and trimmed to the circle.  

Stamp, die cut and color with colors of your choice.  I used Real Red, Garden Green, Basic Black and Smoky Slate.  Stamp, die cut and color the tree with Crumb Cake.  Pop up the tree with dimensionals.

Add some white glimmer paper for snow and attach it above the tree.  Then adhere the truck with a double thickness of dimensionals.  I added a bit of Multipurpose Glue as well because getting things to stick to glimmer paper can be a bit difficult.

Add a bunch of dots of glue to the Pool Party and then shake on some Dazzling Diamonds for the effect of snow.  We also added some Mica Flakes before closing and sealing the ornament shut with Tear and Tape and Ribbon.

A Little Bragging... on my Mother

Earlier this week hubby and I took our trip up to northern Arizona where my birth Mother lived to see the miniatures she made and bring them home.  They were much bigger than I anticipated, so I was only able to bring a couple of them home for now.  Besides, the people at the residence seem to enjoy them.

This one lives under a dome, but I couldn't get good pictures with it on.

Look how adorable this is!  I realize as I type this that I should have put something in the picture to show size comparison.  I'll do that tomorrow and post a new picture.  The little chocolate egg with the chick inside is only a 1/2" tall!

There's little eggs for coloring with egg dye and even the little fizzy dye tablets and stickers.

Looks like a bite was taken out of that chocolate egg next to the cup of tea / coffee!

The other one I brought home is a box representing a young girls' bedroom.  It is done all in pink with a ballerina theme.  Everyone who saw it and now knows she had a daughter, believes she made it with me in mind.  I'll share that with you in a few days, or sooner!

Navy Veteran Turns 96

There was a story on the news on Wednesday night about a World War II Navy Veteran who is turning 96 later this month.  He would like to receive Birthday Cards in the mail, you know, snail mail. 

So that's what I decided to make and send.  Here is my card, which also qualifies for a sketch challenge on my team page.  The dotted background is just so you can see the card.  :)

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper:
4 7/8" x 2"  - matted with Basic Black - 5" x 2 1/8
3 1/4" x 2"
2" Circle
Gold Glimmer - 1 1/2" x 2" - punched with Banner Punch

Inside Stamp from Window Shopping, inked with Memento Black.

Sneaky Peek

This is a quick little sneak peek at something cute that will be available in the Spring Occasions Catalog beginning right after the first of the year.

We made this at our Team Meeting last night - which was our Christmas party, which explains why this post is later than normal.

Isn't he adorable?  Adding googly eyes makes him even sweeter!  Watch for your new Occasions Catalog coming from me and if you don't already have a Demonstrator and would like to have a catalog, please email me and I'll be sure to get one to you as soon as we are able to send them out.

Santa's Ghirardelli Holders

For those of you that don't know, earlier this year I was contacted by an Aunt that I didn't know I had.  Turns out she was the half sister of my birth Mother (I was adopted at birth - and never knew who my birth Mom was).  So, turns out she'd lived within miles of me most of my life, we may have even passed each other in a store or passing on the street.  She passed away three years ago, but some of the miniatures that she made are apparently still at the Independent Senior Living residence where she lived before she passed.  Now that my long work hours are over, I'm taking a quick trip to where she lived to see them and bring them home.  I'm so happy they kept them and said they are mine to have!

Well, I can't go without some little treats for the people that live and work there, just as a thank you.  I decided on some matchbook holders with Ghirardelli chocolates.  I found this pattern from The Papered Chef - the same lady that I found that turned me on to the Brother Scan n' Cut. 

Recipe:
Santa's Workshop Designer Series Paper - 7 1/4" x 2 3/4" - be sure to cut so that the pattern of paper will fold and not be "sideways".  See below.

With the top of the paper on your cutter as shown above, score at 6 1/2", then 3 1/8" and then 2 7/8"
Fold on the score lines and staple the smallest fold up with two staples - to look like a matchbook.

Attach a Ghirardelli chocolate inside with a removable glue dot.  Tuck the edge under the small flap.

On top I attached some cut-outs also from the same Designer Series Paper  which I cut out with my Scan N Cut.  I love that thing!  I attached them with some Wobbles that I bought years ago and had dug out the other day. 

You can see the spring under the Santa here.  They are so cute and fun when they wobble!

The "for you" is from Wood Words and punched with a 1" circle punch.  I also punched some scallops out of the back of the DSP that was red with the dots.

Aren't these cute and they were SO FAST to do!

Santa's Train - Toot Toot!

On Saturday we gathered together to make the Santa's Workshop Memories and More Card Class.  I love it when the girls step outside the instructions and make their own creations! 

This is one by Brittney - take a look at the train.  She used the snowflakes from the sticker sheets that are included in the pack of cards.  

Looks like Santa is resting up in preparation to head out and make his deliveries.  Always good to be rested for the journey ahead.

Santa's Little Sleigh

Here's a quick little treat I made up for my card class tomorrow. Girls, if you're reading this before class... surprise!

Made with the Wood Crate Framelits Dies and Real Red
Cookie Cutter Santa 
Candy Canes are attached with Tear and Tape - although a hot glue gun would be better, but I didn't dig mine out.  
For the Santa, I punched out a second one out of Real Red and attached it to the back.

Fill with your favorite Christmas candies.  I wanted to use the Christmas Dove Bars because they all look like little wrapped packages, but couldn't find them.
