Santa is the Chimney Delivery

I saw this adorable card on Sarah Wills' blog and just had to CASE it.  For those of you new to stamping CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything.  We Demonstrators love to share with you and with each other.  This one was just irresistible!  Thank you Sarah!

Here comes Santa coming down the chimney, or is he leaving?  Good question, because with this card, he can do both!

This card looks difficult, but it is actually very easy and just think of the smiles you'll get when someone receives it and pulls out the tag and finds Santa in their chimney!

Start with a card base of 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and score it at 4 1/4".  Cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler or Real Red down to 5 1/4" x 4" and punch the edges using the new Confetti Stars Punch (135861).

Remember, when you buy a new punch, be sure to punch it several times on scrap paper - preferable scrap cardstock to remove the left over residue from manufacturing.  It took several tries with this one because of so many edges to it.

Cut a piece of Whisper White at 3" x 3 3/4", stamp and color your chimney as desired.  I used our Blendabilities.  Using your super sharp Paper Snips (103579) cut out the middle of the chimney.

Cut another piece of Whisper White 2" x 3 3/4" and stamp Santa from Get Your Santa On (135761) and punch the top with the Scallop Tag Topper (133324).  Tie a pretty ribbon through and tie it off with white Bakers Twine.

Before you put it all together, cut a piece of Basic Gray behind the chimney opening and adhere it to your Cherry Cobbler base.  Place several dimensionals around the edges, leaving enough room for the tag to slide in.  I cut mine in half so they go further, and fit well around this to make a pocket.

Here you can see Santa is actually on a removable tag and the chimney is empty when he's out and when he's in, you see his feet sliding in.  Too Cute!

I hope you have fun making this card.  I just think it's adorable!  Thanks again to Sarah Wills for sharing her idea.

Thank you for looking in today!
