Cutest Swap Ever!

I hear thunder outside, so I need to make this fast again.  We had some good rain Tuesday night, for about 10 minutes, but the thunder was fun to hear too!

So, I simply have to share my Upline's Swap Card from Tuesday's Team Meeting.  This was made by Lorri Heiling.  I just LOVE this!  This bear is on my next order and I can hardly wait to share it.

With a little magic, it looks like this open and stands up perfectly!  Plus there's a little message waiting inside!

Hedgehogs Revisited

For our team meeting last night, I was asked to prepare a 3-minute demonstration of a technique or idea, so I decided to share the Liquid Mask technique I shared here a couple of months ago.  To see the details on the process see the original post HERE.  Just don't pay too much attention to the sad looking card there.  Ugh, it was really so plain.  

So the night before our meeting I stamped several hedgehogs for samples and made a finished hedgehog picture, minus the card you now see it attached to.  Heading out the door for work Tuesday morning, I grabbed a piece of Pacific Point card stock and a piece of Pacific Point "dots" from the Brights DSP stack, thinking I'll put something together at work before going to the meeting.

When I checked my emails, I spotted one of my favorite bloggers and stampers, LeeAnn Greff from Flowerbug's Inkspot and fell in love with the cards she displayed.  I just knew it would be perfect for my hedgehogs.  So here it is!  Thank you LeeAnn!

Card Base:  Pacific Point - 6" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Designer Series Paper - 5 1/4" x 1 1/2"
Whisper White Inside - 5 1/4" x 4"

Since I already had the hedgehogs on a piece of watercolor cardstock of unknown size, I simply trimmed them down to just outside the inked area which ended up being 3 7/8" x 3" and then a Pacific Point mat of 4" x 3 1/8".   I simply made the mat 1/8" larger on two sides than the picture.  You could also do 1/4" bigger to match the matting size of the Whisper White inside.

Inside Sentiment

This is how it looks as it would stand in a display.  Because the front of the card is not as long as a normal front, this really won't be a good card for standing up on a table, but, if you turned it so the fold is on the side, it would stand nicely with the 1 1/2" edge to the front.  Of course you'd want to turn the hedgehogs, or whatever you use, sideways as well.

Happy Anniversary American Style

When you really LOVE the Fourth of July and the colors Red, White and Blue, what do you do?  

You get married of course!  A friend of mine loves the 4th of July so much she decided that was the day she wanted to be married and that's exactly what she did.

So of course, we have to have an appropriate card to go with it, so here it is!

Fly Away Firefly Jar

Ok, time to ask your opinion.  I've looked at this off and on all day since I made it early Sunday Morning.  I know which one I like best, but I wonder how others feel, so, check out these two cards and then leave a comment below letting me know which you prefer, and why.

From Jar of Love, comes this cute card with a jarful of fireflies being released.  I bet you didn't know there was a firefly stamp in there.  I didn't, until I looked closer.  There are a lot of great options with this set from flowers, to fishes to ... well... fireflies!

My first card I made on Whisper White with Night of Navy as a background and stars in the sky.  I like this one because it is bright and you can really see the glow of the firefly butt.  LOL  Inside I have a matching theme.

Whisper White (or Marina Mist -see below) - 5 1/4" x 4"

Then, as I thought about it, it seemed to me you wouldn't see fireflies glowing in the daylight with the bright white, so I went with Marina Mist instead.   This takes the pretty "shine" away from the glow.

So... what do you think and which do you like best?  Since making them early this morning (Sunday) I've thought of some changes to make, but I'll save that for when I make them.
